Why would it be a smokescreen? We're at #1, WE dictate the flow of the draft. If we're at #1 theres nobody that could take either player away from us so I dont see how its a smokescreen
The most i would deal for that pick is Abe since he does not want to be a Jet and pick #4.... no 3rd rounder no picks for next year.... abe,pick#4 for pick #1 thats the only way i would make a trade wit the texans... also I would take Bush with the pick.

That wouldn't make a difference...We would have the luxury of being able to choose between Matt and Bush...that alone would drive the price up.
And how could it be a smokescreen when the Jets never even mentioned Leinart...its a rumor thats circulating, nobody in the Jets FO has even mentioned Leinart. Im starting to think well wait until next year for a RB. Tons of great options like Peterson, Bush, Lynch, Broussard, and many more. Add that to the fact that well most likely be picking in the top half, and that weve already said that were comfortable platooning at RB, and with all the buzz that we're taking a QB this year (whether Leinart of Cutler), and I think its pretty clear what out intentions are.
What are you talking about? Nobody has leaked anything to anyone. The Texans will drive the price up no matter who we want. It would be the same compensation if we wanted Bush or Leinart.
