Apparently the security guard skipped out on some interviews. Can't post links right now but they're there.

Yep, saw that too. With all the crazies out there, I'd stay out of the public light too.

IT seems as though Paddock stopped shooting about an hour prior to the SWAT team breaching his door. Did he commit suicide right then and there or immediately after he stopped shooting?

There are now conflicting reports on when the security guard, identified as Jesus Campos, was shot. Some reports say 6 minutes prior to him opening fire at 9:59 PM, some say he was shot in the midst of Paddock opening fire.

I'm wondering why it took SWAT or police in general over an hour to identify and get to the room? It seems that it was very obvious which room it would be with the broken down glass. Not to mention you're placing a security guard at the hotel room at 10PM so one would think he would identify the location right away.

I think the latest per the Las Vegas police press conference is that they confirm the 6 mins before story.

With that, you would think that the police would have known exactly where to go. But listening to the full scanner recording , they had a lot of confusion while inside the mandalay . They first thought he was on the tenth, then you hear shooter on the 29th. After that they head to the 32nd.

I would totally understand if campos refused , or was advised to refuse interviews . But why agree , and then disappear right before?

During the press conference , it said in ticker that it took police 12 mins from 1st call to reach paddocks room. The scanner tells a much different story. It took an hour

No reason to fuel the fire.

The security guard was beyond lucky that he took just one hit in the burst through the door. Maybe he was pacing outside the door after knocking and just happened to be off-center of the door when the gunfire started? Assuming Paddock hadn't started firing on the crowd yet Campos would have had no reason to suspect a violent assault upon knocking on the door.

The alarm he was investigating may well have been a result of the damage to the windows in the suit as Paddock pounded them out. It would have taken him several minutes to get that finished, maybe as many as 10, and that would have given Campos time to get up to 32 to investigate the alarm.

The other potential alarm could have been related to Paddock jamming the stairway door shut.

I completely agree with everybody who has said that the idea that Paddock was entertaining an escape is unlikely. There's no way he commits the crime the way he did with any expectation that he will get away. He was on a high floor and he spent 10 minutes firing on the crowd. That was more than enough time for the 32nd floor to get locked down. Also, the blocking off of the stairway took away an escape route and suggested that he thought people would try to enter via that route while he was still in the suite.

Only thing is, they say 200 shots down hallway. That door does not look like 200 rounds unless he opened it to shoot

    1) An atty advised him to shut his mouth because lawsuit coming/already in motion against hotel, could pay gazillions 2) signed a non-disclosure agreement when hired, advised by hotel attys to take his money/payoff and shut his mouth or get nothing 3) something critical has been discovered, FBI told him to keep it zipped for now 4) has undocumented family here, got scared 5) has had his life threatened, has told police, is under protection, no-one is talking. Maybe this, maybe that, but I think any of these choices or combination of choices are not beyond the realm of possibility. As to me, I think choice #1 is where it's at.

I think if it were #1 that advisement would have come long before 5 mins before an interview

Still not a single surveillance video release on this which we know there is plenty of video. There is almost certainly something more than meets the eye to this one IMO. Doesn't pass the sniff test.

And more interesting, no one (media) seems to be looking or demanding better answers.

There is no investigation (shit happened live on air), unless they think there may have been more than one person involved. Why not show the hall video leading up to the attack? If dipshit disabled the hall cameras, show the footage of him doing that. Show some footage of him being alive that F'n day.

There's some fuckduckery going on here. Multiple reports of multiple shooters from multiple locations. What of the "You're all gonna die" woman before the shooting started?

Or wait a couple weeks, no one will care.

High-end casinos in Vegas - and even low end casinos in Vegas - invest tons of filthy lucre on surveillance. Word has it that the Mandalay alone has roughly 3,500 cameras, but not much in the hallways, just near the elevator banks. They pretty much know when you're taking a dump . . . just not in the hallways. It's still an active investigation (no kidding). People complain when there's too much errant information, too much information, period, and then clamor when they don't hear enough information. I don't trust the gov't as far as I can throw them, let me be clear on that.

The other thing that I heard about Jesus Campos is that Paddock may have had access to the employee service elevator as a perk. ELEVATORS HAVE SURVEILLANCE CAMERAS, ESPECIALLY EMPLOYEE SERVICE ELEVATORS BECAUSE THEY WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU'RE NOT STEALING SHIT. The secondary reason is if you claim you got hurt on the job. Again again, it's still an active investigation, and mum is the word. Everything gets leaked. The Ray Rice beating of his fiance was leaked in that elevator in Atlantic City, and the place was on the way out. Even most roach motels have cameras in their elevators. This is on lock down. It's extremely obvious.

Tell ya what I'm really surprised about. No-one has mentioned the roughly 1K tunnel people, the homeless who live in droves underground beneath the casinos and the Strip. That is some apocalyptic shit right there. It probably hasn't come up because it has nothing to do with anything except that it's apocalyptic shit. Paddock was so familiar with Vegas, I was waiting for someone to say that maybe he paid a couple of underground cave dwellers to help him get in his weapons. Well, everything else has been thrown against the wall . . .

It's fishy every which way but loose for sure, but my guess is that conspiracy theorists will probably be wildly disappointed when it just turns out to be something far more pedestrian than imagined. Please, no, I am not implying that mowing people down is pedestrian. I'm just not ready to go all Erich von Däniken on this yet.

People just don't use the phrase "filthy lucre" nearly enough.
