At the moment it's the 1st Amendment I'm worried about. Specifically that every news organization in the country is salivating to sell this and the shooter's history and anything related to this for their own profit/loss reckoning. We should have a law that prevents identifying the criminals to the general public. Take all the infamy out of it for them and remove that consideration from their calculations. If they are not killed in the response, which is unlikely, they should be tried in a closed court with jurors sworn to not reveal the identity of the defendant at any point. When convicted they should be sent to a Super Max and kept in solitary for the rest of their lives with no chance to boast to other inmates or otherwise spread the news. First thing I thought when I saw this story was that the guy was 64 and he definitely knew who Charles Whitman was and he undoubtedly was trying to out-do him.
I don't know if there is a higher power, but there I am certain that there isn't an old man in the sky helping people finding parking spots and car keys, but allowing mass murder.
I wonder if this will affect hotel security and maybe even add metal detectors to the entrance of the hotel. They said that house keeping saw none of the rifles. How does someone get ten or so rifles into a hotel without anyone noticing such a thing?! RIP to the victims and their families.
Is there anyway that someone can purchase 10+ of these weapons though? Is there any sort of limit on them? He seemed to have military grade equipment from what I can see from the videos, in having some sort of laser scope. Are those too available for purchase, even after an extensive vetting process?
You can buy a fully automatic machine gun if it was manufactured before 1986, and need an ATF license. So yes, you can technically buy a fully automatic weapon, but that was not the case last night in Vegas.
I'm younger than 28 but I'm not a brainwashed college idiot who hates America. If the rest of the folks my age are then so be it. I'll defend the constitution
You can make an AR-15, and other guns, simulate fully auto for around $89 You lose accuracy but with a crowd the size he was shooting at, that is not an issue. He may not have even needed to have fully auto with his position and the crowd size.
Something about Paddock is starting to bother me. He apparently left no recorded statement as to why he did what he did. He has no clear political or religious affiliations. He has a history of going to Las Vegas for exactly the kind of music festival that was terrorized. He likely stayed in the Mandalay Hotel while there. They better get a really accurate time of death on him. He probably did this but he'd be a hell of a fall guy given his patterns of living.
Of course they're hammering press secretary Sarah Sanders about gun control right now, despite the fact that she is basically refusing to answer the question.
When it comes to the progressive left there's almost no point in making detailed logical arguments because they just simply can't understand or refuse to. Every issue to them is about power and control, which is why when something like this happens they call for gun grabbing under the guise of wanting safety. When it comes to illegal immigrants flooding over the border, they don't favor any restrictions at all and even promote sanctuary cities to defy the law
So you're thinking that this may have been someone else and Paddock could've been framed? Surely surveillance footage will show the comings and goings of that room. Wouldn't that go against someone's agenda to want to gain infamy over their shootings?
Some entity is behind this. This guy did not act alone on a whim. It's very clear to me that this was planned very carefully
I hate the alex jones type theories but as of yet it doesn't add up at all. What a shadowy figure. They interview his brother conveniently he knows nothing. Of course he committed suicide or was killed in a shootout with police I've heard both. Also very convenient. I say question that lady traveling partner any way you can and get the right info. Somebody knows something
What do you think the motive was? I wonder if his girlfriend was deliberately out of the country when this occurred. I'm sure it's not coincidence that this was done during a country music festival where there was likely tons of white Anglo-Saxon fans.
