Agree, for some reason the better team always fix the game. In football (soccer) Manchester United has been accused for two decades to have the referee in their pocket, same goes with the Heat the last 2 seasons
How come everyone of your examples refers to a non call? It's never an actual bad call MADE against the Patriots. If you don't see the significance in that...I'm not surprised being that you are a Patriots fan. That's not to say that I attribute any of their success to the refs..but they are one of the more fortunate teams in the NFL within that regard. It's a well known notion in many fan innercircles that when your team plays the Patriots, your team is likely not gonna get many calls go their way.
Correct.....It's really simple.......If you own a stopwatch and you start it when he catches the ball and stop it when the ball is recovered, you will see that roughly 5 seconds elapse.
I quit these threads awhile back knowing you can't change peoples minds and they need to rant, even if the rant is without any real merit... But, people getting banned for setting the record straight? :shit: Maybe it'd be better to look at the positive side. Rex proved this week that he could really coach his team up.
Everyone should be able to vent .. if not I would snap at every person after every time the jets get screwed.. I am sure we are over it...But to have a bitch ass pat fan write a 2 paragraph post calling US pussies!!!! They named that stupid tuck rule because the refs love the pats so much.. They should have waited to the end of the season to implement a new rule..Not in the playoff's... But we are pussies according to a pat fan named ken!!
They say ignorance is bliss. The Jets were beneficiaries of the "Tuck" rule earlier in that season, way before the playoffs.
So...about this: That's not a penalty? Not only is Sanchez hit low he's also hit high at the exact same time. That IS the Brady rule.
There was 2 or 3 calls that saved the pats asses..Not to mention they did not run the appropriate time off the clock after the FG .. Which pretty much gave them an extra time out. They are facts.. The jets had to overcome too much.. Ref#1 Wait,Wait... Bring that back Its Defense INT.. Ref#2 What? I am on top of both these guy's and see no INT..What? You are 50 yards away and I have the best view.. Ref#1 I don't care the pats are not going 3-4.. Ref#2 Ok... I guess I was blinded for a second but the ball looked low.. Ref#1 Don't talk back to me.. I am ed hockerly... I will have your ass bitch..First Down!
No it isn't. As much as you want it to be, it still isn't. This section here is "The Brady Rule". Cunningham wrapped him up below his knees. He did not "forcibly hit Sanchez below his knees". Verdict: Not a penalty When Ninkovich got to Sanchez he was already falling backwards. #50 put his hands on #6's shoulders and pushed backwards. As far as I can tell, that was the only contact made. Ninkovich actually did a remarkable job of avoiding further contact in that tackle. I'm not sure he touched Sanchez's head/neck area at all, but if he did it certainly would qualify as "incidental contact in the course of a conventional tackle". Verdict: No penalty Just because two players made legal hits on Sanchez in different areas doesn't somehow make the cumulative effect of the play illegal.
The first Jets-Pats game in the 2001 season. Testaverde was your QB at the time. Belichick had seen the so-called Tuck Rule called in the second game of the season against the Jets. Patriot Anthony Pleasant appeared to force a fumble as he sacked quarterback Vinnie Testaverde. But the fumble ruling was overturned based on the Tuck Rule. The rule states that when a player is holding the ball to make a forward pass, any intentional forward movement of his arm starts the pass — even if the player loses possession of the ball as he is attempting to tuck it back against his body. http://www.eagletribune.com/local/x1405466396/10-years-later-The-game-that-changed-everything-for-Patriots/print
Are you kidding? You go back 10 years to a seemingly meaningless regular season game to somehow make a point that the JETS get lucky calls from the refs? You patriot fans have ALOT of nerve. Of course I don't mean to generalize..maybe it's just you. This is utterly ridiculous. If you really want to go back 10 years to highlight all the fortunate calls/bounces a given team has gotten..I somehow think the Patriots would have one of the longer lists. It's one thing to defend your team..but i find this insulting & deplorable. I'd say that the majority of your fan base deserves at least a decade of losing for all the bullshit like this opposing fans have had to endure..but I've been saying that for at least 5 years & nothing changes. Life is fricking cruel.
I think he was trying to correct a false statement, not argue that the Jets have been extraordinarily lucky with the refs. If you are so insulted and outraged, you should probably find a way to be less sensitive to things that are said on the internet.
Whoa, settle down dude... I was answering someone's question. (They asked for an example of when the "Tuck Rule" was called prior to the Pats-Raiders playoff game.) I'm not trying to defend anything. I already said in this thread that I think the Patriots got lucky and stole this one from the Jets.
Bottom line is Tom Brady sells the NFL, he is a huge marketing piece for the NFL, same with Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees. They aren't stupid naturally they are going to get all the calls. Same with baseball, some of the strike calls that Verlander gets are completely unfair 2-3 inches of the plate. Same goes for CC, and Halladay etc. Same with basketball Lebron, Wade, Kobe etc. get all the calls. The sporting leagues aren't stupid they know who makes them money, it just takes intelligent fans to realize that it happens. Are we not allowed to complain about it? Bottom line the NFL knows who makes them money and they will protect them at all costs.
