Well, those are different points altogether. If all you wanted to say was Cam threw the ball better, that's one thing. He clearly did.

But the point that is useful for the Jets is that the offensive approach with Cam in the shotgun helped him be able to move the ball with passing. The things worked together beautifully.

Were you even aware Cam broke the record for QB touchdowns? Cam rushed the ball more times this year than Mike Vick ever has in his career . . . think about that. You thought he merely "used his legs" when the play broke down, and yet he had one of the highest rushing attempts for any QB in the modern era. That's how much of a dual threat he was.

Cam is a passer first runner second. Tebow is a runner that cant pass very well. Cam sits in the pocket and can make every throw Tebow cant.

Cam is being groomed to be a pocket passer and has shown he can do that. They are not the same do not play the same and can't be game planned the same way.

Carolina does use the spread offense like Denver had to last year. Carolina let Cam throw from the pocket.

Cam still has to prove he can take three, five seven step drop from center and plant and throw. He has showed signs he can do this Tebow has not.

Cam will not be known as a running QB Tebow will always be known as a runner first.

I don't think you've got a very good understanding of Cam's game. He can do it all, very well (that is true). But their offense does in fact make great use of his running ability.

As far as I can tell, he set a record last year for rushing attempts by a quarterback in the modern era. How can you sweep that fact aside? Plus, he's the only one besides Tebow that can run it between the tackles.

He scored 14 touchdowns. Can't you see the simple fact that he's essentially Sanchez and Tebow combined (by that I mean they use him in that offense like the Jets will use the combination of Sanchez and Tebow).

He is a threat to straight-ahead run it on every play -- they may call it out of that offense. And that fact opens up lanes for him -- it is part of the reason for his success.

Should be a simple point to concede.

Both Newton and Tebow ran the read option offense. That is the primary offense for Tebow and one of the main offenses for Newton. Newton is a better passer, but the plan to stop the read option would be similar no matter the QB. The next thing to do is to perfect the defensive approach to the QB skills BUT the general approach to stopping will still be the same. Defensive coaches now have 13 games from Tebow and 16 from Newton to full understand how to attack it and how to stop it.

I was saying based on how defenses attack Newton, that will be the general way they will try to stop Tebow if he becomes a starting QB.

Using Tebow in packages should be a little more difficult for defenses to stop since it won't be the main focus of the gameplan if Sanchez is starting.

Tebow is a winner and he is full of intangibles. That stuff is uncoachable which makes the offseason irrelevant. End of thread.

Mark Sanchez will not succeed in terms of leading the Jets to the playoffs this year or keeping Tim Tebow on the bench, simply because (I don't care what the Jets Management have said publicly) if you bring in Tim Tebow, you're essentially wanting him to be the starter. It comes down to Tim Tebow symbolizing everything that you want with a franchise quarterback: Popularity, Performance, Leadership, and Athletic Ability.

Mark Sanchez has 3 years of tape for the management and coaches to look at in order to decide what he is or isn't. In his first two years he was a game manager and that's when the Jets had the most success with a solid defense and running game. His extension makes it possible for him to be moved after 2013. Whatever money you have to pay for Sanchez's contract, you make up for with Tim Tebow's ability to generate ticket sales, merchandise sales, and advertising dollars.

If you're convincing people to buy into that, then you have to play Tebow more than 20 plays a game. The Jets know this. And also, he gives you a chance to win. So, it is my belief that Tim Tebow internally is already going to be the starter and right now the Jets are allowing him to get comfortable with his teammates. Mark Sanchez will not start a single game in 2012.

Diehard Mark Sanchez fans or even longtime Jet fans are not going to like hearing this, but because of Tebow's widespread popularity, that matters little: its all about having a winning formula on and off the football field. And the Jets have found it when they traded for Tim Tebow for essentially nothing but 2.5 million dollars.

Tebow will not succeed, either. Defenses had him figured out by the end of last regular season. One awful performance by the banged up Stealers does not change that.

Against a mediocre Pats D, a team the Jets play twice a year, Tebow barely got over 5 ypa, on 9 for 26 and 136 yds. Guess what? Not enough to come close to beating the Pats. He also ran it for five times for 13 yards (BFD), fumbled and lost the fumble, and was essentially a non-factor. Belichik already has him figured out, and that game film is available for every Jet opponent this coming season.

As I said before, we are even more likely to see the 3rd string Qb this coming season than when the Jets got an even more fragile Fiedler to back up Mr. Fragile himself, that being Chadwick.

I hope McElroy does better than Bollinger.

Let's shatter the myth of defenses figuring him out.

First of all there was nothing to figure out. It was run, run, run , punt for 3 1/2 quarters then a hybrid read option 90% of the time.

second lets analyze each game , again using actual facts.

    1. New England first game. he had one of his best games all year . 200 passing , 100 rushing and touchdowns. New England took advantage of 3 straight turnovers and sealed the win (2 of which had nothing to do with Tebow and one of those was special teams).

    2. Bills, Tebow did ok for most of the first three quarters. Bills go up and Denver abandons their set offense , Tebow proceeds to have the worst quarter of his career. this was more reflective of Denver's inability to run a pass first offense with the personnel they have (including Tebow). It was not the "defense" figuring anything out.

    3. Chiefs, the Chiefs stopped the Packers so they can certainly stop the Broncos, this game comes closest to making your statement true but one game does not make a pattern. Denver sucked, Chiefs sucked less.

    4. Steelers no need to comment.

    5. New England second game. They score 35 points in the first half. The Patriot offense sure figured out the Denver defense that is for sure. Tebow playing with a broken rib , collapsed lung and chest injury.

So , again, there was nothing to figure out in the first place but even then that is not what happened.

Dude love the excuses. By the way how come no Tebow nut posted that Sanchez looked Sharp in OTA today? Tebow got pick off twice?

By the way, how come the Teblows folks gotta bash their own team? Are you unaware that the sports media has that job covered?

Yeah. And why is no Tebow homer mentioning Sanchez's terrible ass completion percentage?

Both sides are slipping. You're supposed to overreact more to OTAs.

I know this will never work, but we should impose a quiz on Jets history before members are allowed to sign up. Some very basic knowledge that will keep some of the hard-ons off the board. I don't mind having fans of Tebow on here and his rabid supporters (the haters are just as bad, I personally will suspend my judgement until he actually gets on the field, the rest is media hype), however this is a Jets forum, out of respect you should have some knowledge of the team, not just coming in here and telling us the savior has come.

Totally impractical I know, but I feel like the Jets fanbase is infiltrated.

No one is saying Tebow is the franchise savior. No one is saying Tebow is better than Sanchez. Haters will say anything to trash him, and you will see "Tebots" defending him. Tebow will be a great teammate and a loyal Jet. People need to stop obsessing over what the media says and use common sense.
