You're in denial if you think the Jets aren't gonna let tebow compete for the QB job. If they tell tebow he's gonna strictly be a role player with no chance to be the QB, he's the type that may just walk away and move onto his missionary work.
Everyone needs to settle down, like really its not that serious. Sanchez is fragile, im hearing it over and over again ESPN, im in fully in support of him. And maybe Tebow isnt the competition that we might have all wanted(like it or not he is competition, dont care what the FO says). The way i see it Sanchez was never going to end up like Eli Manning obviously Rex, Sparano felt like we needed to add something, hell anything to the offense. We have all been begging the FO to do something anything to add some firepower to this team, well there you have we now have Tebow. I like Tebow, as a Qb no not at all, but he's here now and its done and we have to live with it.
I'm not suggesting that this acquisition is fool proof or that there isn't immense risk involved. But this whole notion is gonna shine light on who in the media and NFL fan base understands football and who doesn't.Tebow isn't a Jet to be conventional QB back-up to Sanchez. All the "Tebow can't throw" and "What does this do to Sanchez's confidence" is all a waste of breath. He's here as an all purpose back w/ the ability to play QB sparingly if needed. He's an ideal fit in the wild cat, he commands respect of the locker room & simply put can make big plays to will a team to the finish line. He's unique in the sense that he IS a threat to Sanchez, but not in a traditional drop back passer sense. If Sanchez and/or the passing game struggles..the jets can completely change to a wildcat look in as pinch. It's something the opposition will need to prepare & account for. I like the move for Tim Tebow the football player..not Tim Tebow the starting QB.
I don't believe either Florida team made an offer..Miami certainly didn't and nobody but the owner in Jacksonville wanted to.
The Jets are only paying Stanton to measly one year deal for $1.25 million. Money isn't the issue here.
Tebow might be a nice addition if the fans and media could be content with him in a limited role as a wildcat specialist, but that won't be the case. The team is going to have a quarterback controversy from the moment training camp begins. I'll be shocked if this doesn't turn into a total, dysfunctional clusterfuck.
That is exactly right and my son just said the exact same thing. ESPN is already fueling the hate mongers as fast as they can..expect the tabloids to do it tomorrow and of course Francessa is being Francessa.
Stop. He did it in Denver for a year and a half. He loves the game, he won't leave the sport because he didn't get what he wanted.
If Sanchez is that fragile, he needs to find a new job. Maybe that is why he backed up Leinert at SC.
any chance that Sparano and Cavanaugh could help fix Tebow's throwing motion? I question it because he worked for John Elway for a year and apparently no one fixed it in Denver.
Repeat after me class... Tim Tebow is not the starting Quarterback. Tim Tebow is not competing at Quarterback. Tim Tebow will run the wildcat. Feel better yet?
In a way it is though, considering how strapped for cash we are this offseason and the fact that we have so many other needs to fill. That $1.25 million would've been nice to have to sweeten a deal for a RT or FS or WR.
Really? The Jets don't have a need for all purpose weapons who fit their run first philosophy? What team were you watching last year?
If the gang green site becomes a religious devotional site with all the Tebow Jesus freaks pouring in, I'm gonna cry. Isn't it enough we have to put up with Tebowmania, but to have to deal with the religious fanaticals that will follow him to this site is to much to bear.
I think he can work on this team, and I expect him to mainly play as a HB officially. I can see him taking some snaps while Mark breaks huddle & heads out wide. Perhaps throwing occasionally. I can also see him as our short yardage QB. The guy will be our Slash. The only thing I really hope happens is that the media & sponsors get so preoccupied with Tebow, that Sanchez ends up actually having fewer distractions. Through at least Halloween, Sanchez will be a forgotten man flying under the radar.
Haha, you're a moron AND a hypocrite. If you're going to talk about winning, are you going to just discount the fact that Sanchez brought this team to two AFC Championship games, and played great in both those games? Are you going to discount the fact that the Broncos were 8-8 last year, the same record as the Jets? And that Sanchez went 9-7 and 11-5 the previous two years? Oh yeah, you are, because we already established you were brain dead.
