Called me an overreactor but I have to say this. I've been a faithful Mets, Jets and Knicks fan all of my life. I've never said this before but I'm absolutely embarassed to be a Jets fan. We literally are going form contenders to laughing stocks. Moves like this should get you fired. A 4th and a 6th for this dude? Really?
On the bright side I think it's much better than 50/50 at this point that Tannenbaum is gone in two seasons or less.
I thought the Jets were hard to watch last year...now this? If anything, Sanchez will show his true colours. When he underperforms and the fans are chanting for Tebow during a game, Mark will either suck it up and get it done or crumble and give way. In any case, I don't like the move. 4 QBs on the roster, none of whom are bona fide starters...what's the point?
I think people are overreacting. To Tebowmania, I mean. NY, along with Boston and Philly, are probably the only places where we will not see the same fanatical stuff we saw in Denver. The really crazed Tebowmaniacs are either Gator fans or evangelicals-- Do you really expect to see a large contingent of them at Jets games? I don't.
actually i am not too pissed about this - i see the thinking behind it both on and off the field....... nothing this franchise does should surprise anyone.
The Jets are so fucking STUPID it BAFFLES me!!!! We have holes everywhere, no pass rushers shitty safeties shitty RBs shitty OLine and you trade a 4th and 6th for TEBOWMANIA!!! THIS IS MADNESS!!!!
Until the FO or coaching staff flat-out says Tebow is the third-string QB behind Stanton and Sanchez but the first player on the field to run the wildcat, then I will say fans are overreacting.
A wasted season?! Was that 4th round pick supposed to come in and salvage the franchise? A 6th and a 7th rounder are the same thing. Everyone's boards are so different that deep in the draft. Whatever player the Jets were expecting to take in the 6th. I'd estimate there's an 80% chance he's sitting home by the phone in the 7th.
The dude is making 1.5 mil. Drew Stanton, the back QB, who will never see the field is making that. You're delusional for thinking the Jets will actually make Tebow the starting QB.
He didn't. It's just the reaction to a player who says he loves Jesus. Other athletes can rape, murder and sell crack and that's a-okay though.
we have a better KR than Brad and Tebow is a better runner than Brad, we paid too much but we definitely upgraded if we are going to use the stupid wildcat
And you are basing that on what? The guy played 11 games, went 7-4. In those 4 losses, the opponents combined score was 133 pts, for an average of 33 pts per game. Did Tebow lose those games or did his defense? He won a playoff game, and lost to the eventual AFC Champion. NE scored 45 pts in that game. In the head to head matchup with Sanchez, who played better? Tebow or Sanchez?
