Why do people insist on having a favorite player instead of a favorite team? Just pick a fucking team and stick with it, like most of us here have. On the other hand, maybe some of these bandwagoners can see the horror & frustration of being a real Jet fan.

How is Tebow a downgrade from Stanton

I know we have several threads..But isn't this the real question?

Stanton has been buried at 3 on the Lions Depth chart, Hasn't lead a team to the playoffs, has no playoff appearances, let alone wins...

And I'm certain Tebow had better college stats...

    Tebow

    Stanton..

    Who had the better QBR?

    The question isn't Tebow/Sanchez, It's Tebow/Stanton..

I don't know much about Drew Stanton but I'm guess he can actually, you know, THROW the football.

he isn't. he is an upgrade.

If Sanchez goes down, I would gladly win Tebow ugly, but some people seem to prefer to lose with a average to below average pocket passer, and that is what we would do with Stanton, just to spite themselves so they don't have to root for Tebow.

well Tebow is the NFL's #1 red zone threat (statistically) and has playoff experience, ice water veins in the clutch and has never had a losing record as a starter at any level. Heisman, 2 NCAA championships, many SEC Rushing AND passing records.

Stanton is well not sure what to write down...

apparently he does not pass better than Tebow

Career QBR measuring only passing stats

    Tebow QBR 75.1

    Stanton QBR 63.1

his incompletions look better and he stays in the pocket to get sacked or simply throws the ball away when he can't find an open receiver rather than possessing the ability to run and make a play.

that's apparently a positive to some Jets fans and a preferred trait.

We had 3 other stiffs on the roster that could do exactly that without the 2.5mil cap hit.

With the passing attack pretty much relegated to an afterthought, it doesn't really matter if Tebow can throw or not. The FO/CS had no intentions on letting Sanchez throw the ball much anyway. If I were Holmes, I'd ask for a trade just to get to a team with a downfield game instead of the 3 runs and a cloud of dust offense we're probably gonna see.

I don't like the idea, i support the jets, so I support him.

I couldn't care less if he feels the need to pray or whatever else he enjoys doing in the public eye, i just want the jets to win. I don't necessarily see this move accomplishing that any better than not having made the move. I see it as potentially harming Sanchez's development, even if Sanchez still improves - it may be at a lesser rate with Tebow around. Gimmicks don't last. The wildcat is a gimmick. Once you can plan for it, it is worthless.
