I was going to let this thread die because, as other members have made clear, it is a piece of crap.

Saying that Sanchez, when asked to win a game, fails miserably is probably the most incorrect thing that you have argued. How many times when all the chains are off and he is charged with winning the ball game has he come through?

I would say that you are correct when the chains are tightly bound and he has to win within a system that for whatever reason has caused him to look scared and unsure... yeah he looks bad.

But all I have seen from Sanchez when he can call his plays and has to win a ball game is a promising future.

Really? Sanchez's completion percentage in the playoffs is over 60% and he has 9TD to 3INT and I am pretty sure the he led the Jets into foxboro and beat the Patriots last year, not get their asses humiliated like Tim Tebow.

And just to let you know, Sanchez and Tebow both ran for the same number of TDs in the regular season, 6.

Just think that if Mark Sanchez went into Foxboro last year and went 9-26 for 136 yards and a fumble. He would be run out of town and death threats would be sent to his house.

You cannot be serious if you pick Tebow over Sanchez. Tebow had a good run this year but teams are figuring out how to beat him.

What a piece of shit thread this is.

Its no wonder people like firemanedjr want to be vaGiant fans.

What the fuck would this fan base had done if we mortgaged the future and drafted Eli Manning. Holy crap. Tanny and Rex would be burned at the fucking stake.

Imaging the nerve of Woody Johnson and the FO, making an entire fanbase wait 4 or 5 years for a franchise QB to develop after 42 years of misery.

    Oh by the way:

John Elway, Steve Young, Theissman, Phil Simms, Rich Gannon, Jake Plummer, Alex Smith, Fitzharvard, Brees, and Eli Manning all called from the late bloomers Qb club to say hi....

This years Patriots are way different then last years, you know the same Patriots who beat up on Sanchez this year twice? If your going to use that argument lets say that Tebow beat the same Steelers Sanchez lost to last year on the way to the superbowl? Why use anything to make a crappy qb look good?

You're right - this year's Pats are even better from offense perspective and worse from a defensive perspective.

But the Pats aren't missing any starters, much less have a 1 legged QB. So again, you fail.

the really good thing in the news about Tebow is that Elway and Fox said jointly that Tebow will be the Broncos starter in 2012

Which means that you can add the Broncos to the Jaguars, Browns, Bills, Chiefs and a few other teams that the Jets won't have to worry about having a better record than in 2012

Yes, you do have a partial point. When defenses go into prevent mode, he can find some holes, and have some success. But again, in most of the games you are thinking about, the reason the team was down was because either the defense and/or hb failed, and Sanchez was completely useless.

He has had 5/6 good late drives against prevent defenses. You are correct. He can handle a 3 man rush, with an umbrella look that leaves the middle open. He can also beat the umbrella defense when a guy gets deep. But guess what, there are a lot of guys not in the NFL that can do that to.

The great part about the NFL is that they'll actually schedule games next year to check that out. A pretty bold prediction, though, considering our games against the Texans, Colts, Chargers, 49ers, and Steelers. Not to mention, the Patriots twice. I'll hold off for a while, myself.

You are too much. The difference between Sanchez and a QB with a respectable completion % is, what, 5-7%? Why is that difference significant when comparing him to a QB who completed more passes than him but insignificant when comparing him to Tebow? Ridiculous.

Elway said Tebow would be the starter going into training camp. Which really means nothing when you think about it.

Tebow, against the 31st-ranked defense in the league, threw for 136 yards on 9-26 passing. If it was a close game, that would be horrific. The fact that they were down by 3 touchdowns before they even got their hands near the handwarmers on the sidelines makes this a disgraceful performance.

If you can't even throw to better than a 33% completion percentage against a team that's up by 4 scores, don't even try to compare against ANYONE.

Means he's trying not to piss off the fan base that's so in love with Tebow. Training camp means nothing, especially if they bring in a bunch of quality QBs to compete with him.

To be fair, its 55% when 90% of his passes are 10 yards or fewer. If you let him throw deeper more often, than number would go down, a lot.

And Tebow might not be an NFL qb, but he threw deeper than 10 yards a lot more than Sanchez did. You let them throw the same passes, and both are similar qbs in terms of accuracy.

Sanchez's completion percentage was in the same neighborhood after his first two seasons, when the Jets didn't shy away from going downfield. He is what he is, not very accurate, but still significantly better at throwing the ball than Tebow.

    forgetting percentages and all that..

sanchez is not an accurate passer, whether he's throwing the ball over the receiver's head or behind him.

but there are times where tebow will just drill it into the ground 6 yards away from the receiver.

sanchez is a better passer than tebow.

Tom Brady, after living a full life, died. When he got to heaven, God was showing him around. They came to a modest little house with a faded Patriots flag in the window. "This house is yours for eternity Tom, said God. "This is very special; not everyone gets a house up here." Tom felt special, indeed, and walked up to his house.

On his way up the porch, he noticed another house just around the... ...corner. It was a huge 3-story mansion with Orange and Blue sidewalks and drive ways, a 50 foot tall flagpole with an enormous Broncos logo flag waving, a swimming pool in shape of a horse, a Broncos logo in every window, and a Tim Tebow jersey on the front door.

Tom looked at God and said "God, I'm not trying to be ungrateful, but I have a question. I was an all-pro QB, I won 3 Super Bowls, and I even went to the Hall of Fame."

God said "So what's your point Tom?"

"Well, why does Tim Tebow get a better house than me?"

God chuckled, and said "Tom, that's not Tim's house, it's mine."
