MCfadden will be camp and on time. Take it to the bank. Don't worry you will see Mcfadden and Bush in Oakland in October.
I haven't been worried about the Raiders for half a decade now and neither has the rest of the NFL. BTW wasn't I supposed to take it to the bank that the Raiders weren't going to take McFadden?
Oh my God. You would think after looking like such a moron so many years in a row, jeaux would stop with the predictions.
Well the NFl better start worrying about the Raiders. Next couple years they might be in position to win a couple championships.
How about your predictions. Jets are serious contenders for superbowl. I love how Jets took these late gems. The fact is Raiders beat them to the punch every time in draft. Let see Raiders picked Mcfadden . had to settle for gholston. Jets were targeting a CB. Raiders picked their Guy T Branch right before jets picked. They had to settle for grandma speed Lowery. Raiders drafted wr Chaz Schillens 6'4 225 sub 4.4 speed 43 vertical right before the Jets. Jets settled for alot slower version than guy Raiders took. YEa Ainge really upgrade your QB position. Now you have three guys that can't play.
Yes, because you had lower draft picks.... congratulations on being slightly worse than we were last year.
You realize you beat us to the punch because you sucked more than us the previous year. You keep on managing to draft ahead of the Jets each year despite the fact you are destined for greatness. Ain't that sumthin'. :breakdance:
And what proven QB do you possess? I do not want to hear a tirade on Russell. What PROVEN QB do you have?
Jets were the second worst team in football all year behind the Dolphins. They decided to win a meaniless game, when it didn't matter. Whose fault is that. Colts won a meaniless game and someone else got Peyton Manning. there fortunes might have been diffrent. again their is not one position you are in better shape than the raiders now and for the future. BTw Dallas Dynasty were built on being very bad a couple years. See Troy Aikman, M Irvin and Emmit smith. Lets see Jamarcus Russell(franchise QB) Darren MCfadden(franchise RB with Michael Bush) ETc.
I'm the minority on this one, minus the NFL coaches, players, owners, GMs, etc.-- there is no such thing as a meaningless game. Being an athlete i can tell you that- there is no such thing as a meaningless game. And 2nd worst team in the NFL? I'm not going to argue- i'm just going to let you perceive your own reality while I actually know whats going on.
Teams On The Rise Houston(Well this may seem like a no brainer but they went 8-8 last year WITHOUT their top weapon in Andre ''3000'' Johnson for 3-4 games and their starting QB in Matt Schaub for about 5 games. They were able to win games with the heavily invested D-Line and were able to win games well. 5 of their 8 losses were from the AFC South so, they managed to go 7-3 vs everyone else. NOW you talk about them seeing Miami, Oakland and the AFC North which is still very spotty? Taking they can be healthy, it'd be an absolute shocker if they didnt go 10-6. The only concern you would have is at RB for the Texans as Green and Chris Brown arent the most durable of players so it will make you wonder how much pressure will be put upon Schaub) Carolina(This is a wierd pick yes but you need to look at it this way....They didnt have their QB, Delhomme for a good portion of the year or at least healthy. Steve Smith and Julius Peppers, their 2 playmakers on each side of the ball had DOWN years. But low and behold, Carolina got some weapons finally. Stewart who I love, will be a great RB in the league just the lone concern would be his durability considering the injury hes still facing right now. DeAngelo Williams isnt the most durable runner either but I do like what he brings. Carolina invested plenty in their O-Line too so it should produce and be the bright point of the team. This team goes where Delhomme goes. The lone weak point this team has is their Front line on the D took a hit with Kris Jenkins as a Jet, so their run D will be even more suspect. Make or break year for John Fox). Philadelphia(Ehh I know I am not shooting with rocks here, but I really feel that this team can go places. Got the WR they want in Jackson(Who despite size could be an exciting piece especially in returning punts/kicks) and you got disgruntled but guys with questions to prove at both CBs spot. McNabb should have a great season as Kolb fans continue to riot. I think as NYG and WSH take a stepback, PHI takes their spot in) St Louis(They got SOOOOO injury rittled last year from Pace to Bulger to Jackson(Played with it though) to a good portion of the O-Line. This team better bounce back considering how last year was and the close games they lost in. They have on paper great players and they may not go to the playoffs but a 7-9 season(4 win improvement) isnt out of question. Besides Linehan is gulping his last breath anyhow) NY Jets(Easy Schedule=Taking advantage. I dont want to sound like a homer but I'm very optismitic about the team and feel they got the pieces to do some things. A NT, 2 OLBs, a weapon in offense in Keller, a blocking body FB, and most notably a vastly improved O-Line. No reason why this team SHOULDENT be in the playoffs. But I can defintely understand Bills fans feeling the same way though, either one can work and 1 of them will make the playoffs) Teams On the Fall Jacksonville(I like what they did last year DO NOT get me wrong. But your instituing a whole new defense for the players in Coordinator Gregg Williams, formerly of WSH. That means as us Jets fans know a transition in between games, and considering the D was the bread and butter of the squad the offense will have a much bigger task and I just cant see Fred Taylor having another type of year, he just reminds me of Curtis Martin during our 2004-2005 playoff run. Not many weapons for Garrard to get to use either) Washington(New coaches all around=Trouble in paradise. Supposedly, they look great at camp but for the 1st time in a gazillion years they have a bunch of rookies playing on the team, especially in the offense. Portis is always a big ? with health and you never know what the heck happens with that O-Line, because of its age. DC isnt even sure about their QB, Jason Campbell and how legit he is even though he likes the Zook offense) Tenn(Obvious one here but once again they fail to truly help Young on the offense so the team who plays in a rough division already will have their backs against the wall. Then you got a HEALTHY(Well pretty much) year out of Fat Albert Haynesworth, and even if hes on a legit contract year now you cant expect him to have that dominating of a season. RB I'm not sold on, as I dont think too much of speedster Chris Johnson. Team will take a pretty good step back, so much as I feel Michael Crabtree will be a future Titan in 2009) Tampa Bay(Their in the same boat with Tenn, no legit playmakers on the offense. Their QB Garcia is very old and you cant expect him to lead the way. Love that viscious defense but you have to expect them to get tired out eventually due to the inability of the offense to stay on the field. Who knows about Caddy Williams honestly, and their Wr core doesnt scare many.) New York Giants(They look as great as can be on paper but man you cant fight the history............Outside of 1 year, there's always been 1 team that never goes back to the playoffs after going to the SB. Well they get the curse this year. Their team is greatly setup I mean but you have so many damn distractions with Shockey, Strahan's deal, along with a few other small ones. I know I will be wrong but the team just isnt set up to go and do what they did last year and will be considered a avst dissapointment.)
First off we proved we can rush the football consistantly well (sixth best) Upgraded that talent even further with Bush and MCfadden. You hope your additions on the oline have the same effect (No one knows) So right off the batb Raiders are in better shape than jets. Second Russell proved his worth in best conference in America.High sixty percent completion percentage with 29 to 8 TD to interception ratio. HE is a potential franchise QB. You have three QBs that aren't taking you anywhere. Bad news for Jets is the Qb crop looks even worse for 2009.
The reason Russell got picked was because he took advantage of an awful Defense in ND in the bowl game, and had weapons to throw to from Doucet to Craig Davis to Dwayne Bowe and even worked with Addai for 1 season I believe. He had the absolute perfect players to work with and the team actually did better with Russell out. I felt he was the worst pick OAK could have made last year as C. Johnson, J. Thomas, A. Peterson and especially a guy who I think EXTREMELY high in Brady Quinn. He may have the physical attributes that would lead 1 to believe he can play, but he unless in the right system wont work well especially with a spotty O-Line such as Oakland has. Lane Kiffin even wanted Quinn, and other coaches wanted Calvin Johnson but Davis wanted Russell and it was because he can throw from on the ground. He may have a strong arm but he wont get to use that when constantly on the run and dodging defenders all the time(And hes not even THAT durable). And BTW, I feel Curtis Painter of Purdue will be a stud in the NFL and a better QB than Russell.
Well you are be a homer. Jets still have alot of holes on both sides of the ball. You don't know how that oline going to perform together. Every team that has Jets on their schedule is putting a Win next to that game for their team. Jets get to 8-8 and that will be a big accomplishment. Look at who your QB are and your RB situiation. You have no number 2 CB or third CB. Lets see how much better the pass rush is . And how good those LBs are goingh tro be in coverage.
The O-Line has veterans added, it isnt like chemistry will magically break the group due to age............. Every team has a right to put a W on their schedule but we have shown a pattern that every year its playoffs, then 4-12(6-10 in 03) so why go against that honestly? We have the NFC West, AFC West, Cincy, Tenn and the AFC East..... Thomas Jones SHOULD have a better year and Clemens as well due to the O-Line and experience in. Pace finally worked in a 3-4 last year and did all he can and more and should be a great piece if playing to capability and Gholston will take SO MUCH relief upon the secondary its not funny. Lowery looks to be the 2nd or at worst 3rd CB, I mean its just like OAK's spot of Lowery and Branch. I do feel that D. Hall has talent but Oakland is a bad place for him to be put in and his frustration will cost some penalties, as it did in Atlanta. Javon Walker as a No.1 WR scares NO ONE, and thats if he can stay healthy. Russell is the fulltime QB now? Uh Oh. And I feel OAK is still weak inside at DT with Sapp gone.......I mean OAK is depending upon Tommy ''Highest paid DT in game'' Kelly as some sort of savior.
NO Russell getting Picked number 1 had nothing to do with ND game. Again he proved himself playing in best conference. High Sixty completion percentage(accuracy) , w29 to 8 TD to interception ratio(decision making) anD No one in any football league possess his arm. Franchise QB don't drop to twenties. Nobody believe Brady quinn was a franchise QB.(That a fact) Phil Savage would have picked Russell at three. Russell going to be awesome. . HE has a proven running game and dosen't have to carry the offense by himself.(like alot of franchise QBs) You thinking Jets are going to supprise next year, says how little you know.
Russell taking advantage of a poor defense in the sugar bowl defintely had open people's eyes, especially that of Al Davis. The reason Brady fell where he did was because every team in the NFL drafts a QB project in a prior draft and feel they are the future so QB isnt always a need that teams go to, much less in round 1. Brady reminds me of Carson Palmer pretty much, both had very similar paths in college(Quinn started sophomore year, Palmer Junior year I believe) and both have the arm power and ability to read down the field to make the necessary plays. Only thing Quinn will need to do is again work on the accuracy on the long ball. Phil Savage was destined for the O-Line at 3 and if not Joe Thomas, then Adrian Peterson was a distinct possibility with the question of Jamal Lewis and all. You can keep on the koolaid of Russell, I know every fanbase will protect their tabbed franchise QB but I am telling you hes no stud. Kid is raw and hes going to get thrown into the fire way too soon and get effected by it throughout his NFL career. Sorry but Russell is destined to fail in Oakland.
Yes and you calling for the Raiders to make a SB run every year shows how much you know. What is this, the 4th year you have come here and made similar predictions. Let me ask you, how many times have you been right? What is the Raiders record for the past 5 years? Franchise QBs don't drop to the 20s? Really? Do I really need to go back and review? Come on. That is just a moronic statement. As for Russell. I don't think anyone will ever know if he is a franchise QB. You have to pry the bag of Doritos out of his hands first. I have never heard of a franchise QB putting on so much weight in the offseason he could be a LBer before.
Let me address your points. Dbustshaw Ferguson isn't suddendly going to be a better run blocker with A Faneca playing next to him. Your RT has started how many games at RT in his career. (thats an upgrade) Oline is not about indivials but the group work in cohesivesness . Lets see how long that takes. Thomas Jones is a good back who isn't anything special and Leon Washington is a nice change of pace back who goes down on first contact. You really drawing for straws if you think Keller going to do anything for your offense. Jets QB situation might be one of the worst in the NFL. Jets still have no explosive weapons on offense. HOw much is Gholston and pace going to improve Jets pass rush. Gholston an UNknown and Pace hasn't exactly light it up as pass rusher in 3-4. Thast like me saying The 6'5 256 Trevor Scott 4.54 is going to do wonders coming off the corner. Tell me who going to be your number 2 and Three cb. Please don't tell me that joke J miller a possible solution. That guy just a returner. Jets look like they upgraded NT Kris Jenkins. (even though he never played the position) BUt your DEs are still not exactly what you want to have. Raiders have N Asomugha that will be matched up on the number 1 wR. dEANGELO hALL GETS THE SECOND wr. rAIDERS CAN PLAY ANY DEFENSE. 3-4 OR 4-3. rAISDERS DEFENSE IS IN ALOT BETTER SHAPE THAN JETS.
Okay let me get this right, so....Gholston's an unknown and may or may not improve the Jets' pass rush, while McFadden and Russell are guarantees to take the Raiders' offense to the next level. Okay sweet, that's not contradicting your own logic at all or anything.
