There is a laundry list of players at both positions that would beg to differ.

Lawrence Taylor and Jerry Rice say hello,

Dude you're reaching man. There is very little truth to that comment. The most important position in all of organized sports is the QB. You aren't winning anything without a good QB. That's an absolute fact.

I'm not even gonna have this argument.

You do realize that you are going back 30 years right? The game is a lot different now.

Carr was the exception, the other two got in later in the year after the started got injured. You don't automatically start a rookie QB. If he's ready, or at least close to ready, then fine. But Sanchez want ready, the Jets couldn't develop him, and you saw what happened. Geno got thrown in because of injury when by all accounts HE wasn't ready, and he's never recovered. Everything I read says Mariota isn't ready. So you sit him.

If that's what it takes to get a franchise QB, then I'm all for it

please he's WAY more talented than Russell.

And according to reports, Bowles threw some crazy blitz schemes at him and asked what he'd do in those situations and Winston blew them away with the answers...

obviously he has great football IQ...

    he's going #1.

Here we go with the bullshit.

You are a football moron if you think him and JaMarcus Russell are similar in any sense

Then so be it. That's a gamble you take.

Hes got the skills, he's got the pro offense experience, and his football IQ is off the charts. If there's a guy you take a gamble on like that, it's him.

We have holes that can be filled in free agency and through late rounds in this draft.

Twist things however you want but you are wrong to undervalue those positions.

I remember the Giants winning two recent SBs with quality receivers and pass rushers.

The Jets will take Winston in a heartbeat if he's there on the 6. I'm not convinced they'll take Mariota yet. That's a question for their staff to figure out: how hard will it be to turn Mariota into a pro set QB? If not hard then they'll take him. If they have questions they'll take the best player available or trade down if somebody offers them a good deal.

I think someone needs to get a photo of Winston snorting coke off a hookers ass for this to happen. You know anyone who can make that happen?
