Tannebuam is really pleased with Cotchery and how he handled himself on and off of the field last season. He is happy they got him signed for years to come. Tannenbuam just said that they did indeed sign Coleman. Mike & Russo didn't know about it. Also just said they signed Hamilton.
Mike: Now you see Guarsds getting big money, TE's getting big money Tanny: That's why it's important to have a plan in F/A, address as many needs BERFORE F/A so we can draft and address the othere. Tanny: Jericho is a clutch guy, great work ethei, everythingn we want our program to be about Mike: Are there certain positions? Tanny: We did sign Coleman today. We were fortunate... a lot of similarities on DEF... same system... resigned Bobby Hamilton and awe have depth
Tanny: maybe everything doesn't get done in the 1st week, but we keep looking and it's a long road in the offseasen and we'll be prepared. Tanny: Recently added a few coaches, a few new coaches. Dog: Alright Mike, good moves today... thanks very much. Tanny: Thanks very much for having me. Dog: I think the Jets did good with this signing... (Jones) Mike: and they still have 3 picks in the first 60-someotning He has 3 in the 1st 2 tounds. and thn the other inthe 3rd
I think I just set a personal high in hitting the "refresh" key....thanks for the transcriptions, folks!
If I heard correctly, Tannenbuam feels that signing a 3rd String QB isn't such a top priority at the moment. He used the examples of how the Jets had signed Testaverde in 98' in the month of June, and how the Titans signed Collins last season in the month of August. [Or it may have been the other way around]. He said they will get a 3rd QB signed though. Not sure who he mentioned.
Jil, don't mention it. I've got a radio tuned to 660 on my desk, right next to my computer. Whenever I'm on the site and see there's a conference, all I have to do is push the "on" button and start taking shorthand.
M&MD are totally off the Jets now, so it's over. Wish I had known earlier, but I joined in at the last minute. My general impression was that Tannenbaum was VERY confident in what he's accomplished in the past 48 hours and Mike and the Mad Dog were pretty much in agreement that the Jets are a team on the move with these signings and made some good moves. But Dog, of course, had to question the Jones signing by suggesting that he's the type of player that, once he's scored his contract, will then slack off. Tanny rejected this by saying that everything they see in jones tells them he's a good fit and will contribute well past his 30th birthday, which Tanny says many RB's are routinely doing.
Recap: Tanny says, "Jones is a good North-South player, a very tough guy and a good fit in the locker room."
The Arrogant and the Moron proved beyond a shadow of a doubt they don't give a SH*T about the Jets. They were totally unprepared for the interview...and closed with the following monologue: "they have 3 picks in the first 63 - where are they in the first round? Like 18 (Moron) since they made the playoffs - something like 20 (the arrogant)." Guys, do your homework! Check the freakin' internet of have your flunkies do it for you! Switch to 1050
you know FITM, when they first when on I agreed. Michael Kay is no football guy, but he gives more attention and interest to the Jets and the Arrogant and the Moron do. I really have come to prefer the Michael Kay Show - since he gives fans a chance to actually voice an OPINION and if he disagrees he explains why, he doesn't look down on the fans. Mike & Mike in the Morning is the ONLY sports show on during the AM Commute and I love them. ESPN 1050 also gets the best guests... You like Benigno? He's an amateur. Anyone else on the FAN? Somers is a nut.
Oh man, Kay is an idiot. I stopped taking the man seriously a long time ago, but his stats are useless crap when it comes to baseball is disgusting to listen to.
