You've got to get off the Indy thing, man, as of now there is no comparison. Peyton Manning is going to the Hall of Fame and has never missed a game in his 12-year career, that happens once or twice in a lifetime. On top of that the Colts were a destitute franchise for a long time before he got there, so 1998 was all about the future for them. That's not the case here. The Jets spent a ton on veteran free agents the past two off-seasons and a year ago today were eyeballing the Super Bowl with pretty much this roster except for the QB and a few of Rex's guys on D. I'm all for getting Sanchez and developing him, but it would have been in the best interest of the rest of the team, mostly veterans, and the fans if they had a seasoned QB to step in and stabilize things here and there throughout the season. Not an unreasonable idea and nothing that hadn't been suggested during the entire run-up to this season. It doesn't mean we don't stick with Sanchez as the starter and long term, it means we don't sacrifice winnable games and with them another season in the process.
To hell with the season now because, it's over. I say they start Sanchez for the rest of the season. If he's going to learn, it might as well be now. The more he learns to hold on to the ball and not throw dumb-ass picks, the more they get to know what they have with him, and sooner.
