Looks like a sure thing, solid pick, top ten player, nope, its all guess work.

Look into the past, all the top overall sixteen picks each year at DT, OG & OT for the last five years. These are the true guys in the trenches.

    2002 Draft:
4 Buffalo Mike Williams OT Texas (Bust!)
6 Kansas City Ryan Sims DT North Carolina (Bust, only averages 15 tackles & 1 sack each year.)
7 Minnesota Bryant McKinnie OT Miami (Solid pick.)
9 Jacksonville John Henderson DT Tennessee (Solid player, should have been a Jet.)
10 Cincinnati Levi Jones OT Arizona State (Good pick.)

    2003 DRaft:
4 New York Jets (from Chicago) Dewayne Robertson DT Kentucky (Bust, over paid for a workout warrior.)
6 New Orleans (from Arizona) Johnathan Sullivan DT Georgia (Bust!)
8 Carolina Jordan Gross OT Utah (Solid player.)
9 Minnesota Kevin Williams DT Oklahoma State (Great pick.)

    2004 Draft:
    2. Oakland Robert Gallery OT Iowa (Bust at OT, could be moved to G this season.)

    2005 Draft:
13 New Orleans (from Houston) Jammal Brown OT Oklahoma (Productive player)
16 Houston (from New Orleans) Travis Johnson DT Florida State (Looks like a bust with only 31 tackles and 6 assists in two years.)

    2006 Draft:
4 NY Jets D'Brickashaw Ferguson OT Virginia (Beat around the edge by speed rushers and weak in the run blocking.)
12 Baltimore (from Cleveland) Haloti Ngata DT OREGON (Solid player, and he has the size I love, Height 6-4 & Weight: 340.)
14 Philadelphia Brodrick Bunkley DT FLORIDA STATE (Looks like another bust, only 6 tackles and 3 assists, not even worth mentioning.)

A total of fifteen guys selected in those three positions in five years and more than half of the players to date have not paid dividends showing they were worth the pick or the money.

If you look at the guys picked in the top six positions overall all six were busts. One or two of the guys might prove me wrong but still it shows the higher your drafted the less you get what you paid for. No kid is worth the money paid to a top five pick.
