Good. Let them go back to college and risk a Dak like injury then. We all saw how that works out not taking the money.

I mostly agree with you on that but I do think it’s possible they steal one down the stretch. I’m fine with 0-16 but would obviously rather finish 1-15 and still get Lawrence.

TL clearly isn't familiar with the Jets then...Jets can tell him he's only got one more year to play with in college, the Jets can go 0-16 for decades...Just kidding...sort of... Honestly, I think there's a few things that are givens:

    1) Lawrence is not going back to school...0% chance...I suppose he can try and string out this decision until his Jan commit date which makes sense if you're him, but it's really irrelevant as he'll have to commit prior to the Jets needing to take any action. Additionally, I have a hard time seeing why Dallas would be a bigger draw than the Jets. They're more dysfunctional, w/ the worst type of owner (meddling), and a first year incompetent coach that may seep into year two. The Jets have the correct person at the top of their football chain now (JD), TL's agent will tell him that...W/ JD in place, their leftover dysfunction for the most part will leave when Gase/coaches are fired as JD will steady the ship and allow the Johnsons to sit back and let him oversee football decisions. New coach, who will be a good one w/ JD leading the search, will be in place as another plus for the Jets.

    2) Leading to my second given, Gase and his coaches are beyond gone at the end of the year. I get that it's popular to discuss the anxiety in "what if Gase stays" and "what if Lawrence goes back to school"....the reality is, neither of those things are happening so definitely don't worry about it. Jets will get a great coach as w/ the draft picks, cap room, JD at the top, potential to pick his QB and low bar to step over, not sure there's a better situation for a coach....

    3) Jets will definitely lose the next two, likely also lose to Cleveland (would be nice to see Clev lose a game before they play to Jets), and then there's the Pats....Biggest hope (not a given) is that the Jags close one of the next three out (Bears are very likely spot) prior to the Jets/Pats game, rendering it meaningless...but if not take comfort in the fact that there's no way on god's green earth that BB won't go all out to beat the Jets in the last game of the season if they show up 0-15...BB doesn't want that lose on his resume, in a year he's competing to show the world that he can do it w/ out Brady.

Let's be honest here, we all know Bill Belichik will ensure the 0-15 Jets come in and then leave 1-15 and secure the #2 overall pick after Jacksonville wins the tiebreaker at 1-15 and have the worst possible outcome in the history of the NFL. It's just the way it is

It’s hilarious to me that people think Belichick gives a shit who the Jets draft. He’d suit up himself to ensure he wasn’t the Jets only win if he had to.

Actually it's hilarious how naive you are about the calculations that go on in BB's head

Sure I’m sure a 6 time SB winning HC is staying up all night figuring out ways to ensure the Jets don’t draft Trevor Lawrence LMAO.

He doesn't have to stay up all night, it won't be hard for him to throw the game to ensure the Jets don't get a franchise quarterback to compete with the Patriots in future years. The only way it doesn't happen is if the Patriots have a playoff spot on the line, and even then I wouldn't be 100% confident

It does not bother me if we go 0-16 as it will be on Gase's record and follow him wherever he goes.

Here is my question if going into week 17 we are 0-15 but have the top pick clinched due to the Jags getting a 2nd win do we still root against the Jets in week 17 to see Gase get it on his record? I think I would still root for the Jets to lose. By the draft it will not matter to me if the Jets won 0 or 1 game but it will always matter to Gase and mark him with a scarlett L as one of the worst coaches ever.

I'll root for the win. My hatred of the Patriots trumps my hatred of Gase as HC. And whatever "legacy" follows Gase after (if) he leaves here doesn't concern me because I won't waste a millisecond of time over him once he's gone. Finally, I knew he was a terrible HC before last season was halfway over so I don't need a 0-16 record as more proof.

Lose by 50 and clinch the 0-16. This franchise is an absolute joke and the owners deserve to have the 0-16 on THEIR record. Fuck them.

I don't believe that Bill Belichick would cheat to lose. He hates losing, and would hate losing to an 0-16 team tremendously, and would hate losing to the Jets, but would be apoplectic losing to the 0-15 Jets. No matter what the stakes, I can't see him doing that. The only way I can see his intentionally losing to the 0-15 Jets would be if it somehow gave him the opportunity to win another SB this year. He is not afraid of Trevor Lawrence or any other QB on the Jets.

I totally disagree. See my earlier post in this thread #973. Also as RedRoute1 said, Belicheat is trying to show people that he can win without Brady. He is not afraid of the Jets or any QB. That's so wrong, it's funny.

If the Jaguars win another game, then I'll root for us to beat NE and stick it to Belichick. As Colorado said, my "hatred" (not really hatred, but intense dislike) of the Patriots trumps wanting to stick it to Gase and the Johnsons. 1-15 will still be a huge embarrassment to those buffoons, and it would be a reward for the players and would end the season on an upswing to know that they have the #1 pick and Lawrence, and maybe knocked the Patriots out of the playoffs.

It will be my fervent hope that the Jags beat the Bears, and then in the last game Sam has one last really good game for the Jets and Mims gets 175 receiving yards, Perriman 125, Herndon gets 75, Adams and Johnson combine to rush for over 200 yards, and the Jets hang a 49-0 thrashing on the Patriotsknock to knock them out of the playoffs. My only concern with that would be that those idiot Johnsons might then think we should keep both Gase and Sam, but I really can't see that happening.

Is that because he wants his team to be known as the only one that could not beat the 2020 Jets? Or just because he's always been so fond of the Jets organization because his time here was such a wonderful period of his life?

by the time Lawrence gets up to NFL quality, and the Jets get competitive for the division,

the hoodie will already be retired or moving on to a more lucrative deal. say, the chargers in L.A.?
who ever thought you would see brady in Tampa Bay?

Let me ask you this....do you put it past Jerry Jones to let it be known to non-Cowboys "unofficial" friends of his that he would LOVE Trevor Lawrence (or maybe even Fields) and that he'd be willing to trade a ton of draft picks -- in the interest of fairness, ya know :D -- in the UNFORTUNATE event that said college QB decides to pull an Elway/Eli and say they don't want to play for the Jets/Jax/London ?

Oh yeah, you don't even have to "whisper" it back to the target to let them know, like the media did in 1983 with Elway and 2004 with Eli. Social Media will do the rest.
