I, in no way, implied you weren't within your right to post whatever you want, but, based on your posts in the past, I guess I expected more from you.

    Have a good day.

I probably need to take a couple of weeks off. I wake up every Sunday thinking today is the day :jets: , and they just suck the life out of me.

It has been 10 years since we were this bad. I though we turned the corner as a franchise. Boy was I wrong.:shit:

At least we can't lose this week.

Seriously if all you are going to do is post garbage at least research your garbage or put an iota of thought behind it.

There have been many posts on here looking at the 10-15 guys around where Revis and Harris have been drafted. There is not another combo that is anywhere close to the potential of them around where the Jets were originally slated to pick.

If you are so blind or bitter that you can not see that there is at least a bunch of young talent coming in via the draft than there is absolutely no hope. There are more solid young players with potential on this team brought in via the draft than any regime has brought in, in any recent 2 year period.

But omg they are 1-8 so they must suck...................yeah we all get irrational.

    2000-2001 wasn't a tad bit better?

I'm with you generally here. I think the trade up for Revis was an error and I think the trade up for Harris was an error in the context set by the trade up for Revis.

I think anybody drafted from the 5th round on is a huge unknown at this point and we need to evaluate what the Jets have gotten out of the first 4 rounds of their drafts. That would be (in order of value) Mangold, Revis, Harris, D'Brick, Clemens, Washington and Brad Smith. That's not a bad haul for the 8 picks you get out of four rounds over two seasons but it's also not great yet. There's not a single pro bowl caliber regular in that list.

    But they all have "character".

How many QBs, LTs and C reach the Pro Bowl in their rookie or second seasons?

People on this board really need to get off of this "Mangini guy" and "character guy" trip. Mangini never talks about character. He has never indicated that he has passed on a guy because of his character. This is all something that Jets fans have made up. A lot of people assume that the Jets are passing on guys because they have character issues. There is no proof of this. And who are these character issue guys who are apparently tearing up the league right now?

i see alot of drafted players who are skill players. i see two linemen for either side of the ball, when we need a ton of line on both sides. if building for the future then what is this? we have dismantled the line that made curtis martin reborn because of age, now mawae and kendall are still pretty good on teams that would kick our butts. we are not rebuilding methodically, so there is no time for patience... time for regime change!

That's all fine but you are forgetting the most important aspect of building like this. You have to be able and willing to pay to keep your free agents. Take a long look at the Jets record in doing this. The difference between the Patriots and the Jets is that they are willing to pay the money.

    From when he was hired:

"We're going to find out about the character of every single person in that locker room - coaches, players, everybody."

“I think the main qualities that made this job attractive to me were the commitment by the front office to winning, and to building an organization for the long term. I look forward to building an organization that people can be proud of, that's built with character, that's built with toughness, built with discipline.”

"Mike and I have been close friends for 11 years. I have tremendous respect for his knowledge, his leadership abilities, and his character and together we will eagerly embrace the challenge of building a championship team.”

    Something more recent:

He said the Jets are full of "high character" guys and that he has yet to have a player approach him with a complaint about how the team is being run. Mangini has a meeting with the team captains every Thursday night to keep the lines of communication open.

That is so not true and you know it.

You can make a long long list of players that did not make the probowl their first couple of years that became stars in the league. That is why both your comments are so disingenuous. Many of those players are young on a bad team surrounded by inferior talent <cough> <cough> Mangold and Brick <cough> <cough>. If they played on Indy's, Ne's or Sand Diego's line would look a fuck load better.

If you think that a team at 1-8 is going to get players voted into the NFL popularity contest game than I have a bridge to sell you. Only 1 Jet gets a sniff in that game and it is L. Washington. If Harris gets 7 more 24 tackle games he is still not getting in.

Randy Moss and Terrell Owens are two that come to mind.

Why has Adrain Jones not taken a snap at either RT or LG this year?

I think it has to do more with the fact that he sucks. We tried him at RT and OG when the line had much better talent and he was still a crappy player. The only reason he hasn't been cut, IMO, is that the depth on the Oline is so bad. The only thing worse than 3/5s of the starting Oline, is the depth.

He took some snaps at LG last year and looked a lot better than what we have now.

Randy Moss I guess had some legal issues but he's never done anything so bad. Regardless, I don't think the Jets ever had a chance to get him. I think Moss demanded to land on the Pats and wouldn't look at other teams.

TO has never done anything illegal - he's just a malcontent.

Both guys are known for dogging it sometimes, I guess and maybe being locker room viruses. But I never heard anything from Mangini or Tanenbaum about how they wouldn't go after either player or similar players because of character issues.
