Of course no fine on Kraft who did the exact same thing. And rumors are that Kraft will be exonerated for Deflategate. Do you think the NFL will apologize. Probably.
I still don't get why the NFL has to apologize for Deflategate, cause another team (the Colts) reported deflated footballs (after previous info from a third team - the Ravens) and the NFL investigated it? Did the NFL control the media coverage/fan reaction?
So when will investigation about Kraft tempering with Revis be concluded? And pls don't tell me it was a BS claim by Woody. BS for BS aside, it was an official complaint by an NFL owner. Was there investigation? A decision?
They won the freaking Super Bowl and they are upset about this. I am convinced Boston likes sticking it to New York more than rooting for their own teams.
Read this and you will know why. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...-goodell-300m-salary-report-article-1.2092554 " Patriots owner Robert Kraft behind NFL commissioner Roger Goodell’s $300 million salary: report "
I understood the intent of your comment but wanted you to know exactly why he does what he does in case you hadn't seen it.
OK, I'm no fan of the Patsies but it was clearly not the same thing. Woody talked about signing a player in the future sense while he was on another team - the textbook definition of tampering. Kraft Cream-Cheese talked about past dealings with a player who had been under contract with his team. Owners do that all the time to justify why they couldn't pony up the cash to sign any player. Heck, remember all the stuff coming from "sources" about Woody wanting or not wanting Tebow after he had left the Jets and was with the Patsies? But I must say I love the $100K fine. Such a slap in the face of the Patsies, who think they run the league. Woody probably just reached into his pocket and paid the fine out of what he found there. Ideally, Woody should send the fine to Foxboro. In quarters. Delivered in a Brinks truck. With Darrelle Revis and Curtis Martin driving.
No, he didn't get fined because the Patriots didn't actually commit tampering and Woody technically did. Woody said "I would like to have Revis" essentially, talking about the future. He said it just once, after mostly talking about the past and 'what ifs,' but the tampering was his future tense statement. Kraft only talked about the past and how he would have liked to have Revis. It's not like he said "I would like to have him after his contract expires with the Jets." Either way, this is no big deal. 100k is nothing, but the lack of a Patriots punishment has nothing to do with Goodell's favoritism for the Patriots. In this case, there was simply no legitimate grounds for tampering against the Pats.
Both owners spoke about wishing a player to be on their teams. In both cases the player was under current contract with another team. Are you telling me that past tense vs. "essentially" future tense is the difference between $100K and zero? Good going guys, I'm sure Kraft's puppet used the same logic.
In the real world what is 100K to Woody. I have never been a big fan of Woody, but kudos for giving the bird to the Pat's and the lame ass commissioner.
We all know financially it's pocket change to Woody but hopefully it's embarrassing enough publicly for him to shut his damn mouth when he's being asked about players under contract to other teams
