I think the Jets have a real solid shot at being 1-9, at best this season I'm thinking 4-12, they'll split with the Dolphins and Bills, and more than likely lose to one of the Titans, Vikings. You also have to factor in that no matter how much these guys "love Rex" at some point they're gonna mail it in. When your plan isn't resulting in wins the team will not play to its full potential, this goes for everything, not just football. People will eventually stop buying in.
Where are you getting 5th in overall defense (we're 5th in ypg)? This defense stinks 29th against the pass, 29th in give/take, we get no turnovers, and we're 25th in points allowed per game, the ONLY thing we do is stop the run and get sacks (but this pressure isn't resulting in turnovers or actually stopping offenses from scoring), but that's mainly because teams don't have to run against us, when they wanted to they've shown they can. Oh and add this defense is terrible stopping offenses in the red zone, and can never seem to make that stop on the final drive of the game when they need it. We're 5th in yards per game, woo hoo. No team is scared of the Jets defense, especially if they have a capable QB. Top 5 defense? The defense is garbage, if only Mo Wilkerson and Richardson could play D-Back and Linebacker we may have a top 5 defense. Two guys and the remainder either mediocre or garbage does not a defense make.
Haha it's not bragging. I put where I finish every year and it is funny because it is never that good. Thanks though.
My bad for miss-phrasing. We are 5th in yards per game yes, and while that is not the only important statistic, it is an important one. Where are you getting 29th against the pass? We're 15th against the pass actually. We've played some very good offenses, and the only good offenses left this year are the Patriots and the Steelers. Fortunately both of those games ware at home as well. The combined records of the teams that make up our 6 losses total total 25-11, while the combined records of the teams we play over the last 9 games total 24-28.
Tired of being a Darksider with this Season......hope we win them all but might still lose by those hexed 3 point margins lol. I saw a better better better team Thursday ....hope we keep it going. Geno there yet? Who knows but at least he ran when he did and the o line and backfield looked great. With addition of Harvin who knows how good we finally get...to playoffs with some luck?
That was always the case, but this team couldn't go 1-6. If they were even 3-4, this would have been a playoff team.
I'm on board with at least hoping it's possible. 6 straight losses sucks. But the team has shown improvement and stayed in games against Denver and NE till the end. Every team's beatable, and I don't get the reason for thinking the season is over until it's over. Neither positive nor negative thinking is going to change the outcome, so why do our fans have to be so damn negative all the time? I'm not confident at all, but until we've lost 8-9 games, I'm not ready to call it quits. And even then, you don't lose for a better draft pick.
The fans of all the remaining teams on the schedule are doing the same thing and next to the Jets it says ( 1-6 ).
i think we will win a couple but i really want to draft amari cooper, i think its better than a couple feel good wins at this point
I predicted training camp the Jets would be the first 1-6 team to make the playoffs. So far, so good. I'll keep you posted.
With The Harvin trade I think I'll adjust upwards by one game and say the jets finish at 6 wins +/- 1 win instead of the 5 wins +/- 1 win.
I hope we beat BUF, if only to see a return of the annual "Jets just need to win out" thread. It will probably get locked after an agonizing 3pt loss to Pittsburgh.
