I really don't see why it's so impossible. I think we can pretty much shut their offense down. We're sitting here with the 5th overall defense after going toe to toe with 6 straight top 10 QB's. I'm really not scared by Alex Smith or Dwayne Bowe. Jamaal Charles is by far their best weapon, and run defense happens to be our strength. I'm not saying we absolutely will win, but I do like our chances.
They lost by more than TDs to Tennessee in Arrowhead this year. will we win? I don't know but the Arrowhead homefield is a tad overrated.
They also destroyed the Pats there. I think Arrowhead is a huge homefield advantage, one of the best in the league if you buy that HF advantage exists. _
Being in Arrowhead will have more effect on our offense than our defense, in my opinion. Alex Smith is a smart QB in that he doesn't turn the ball over a lot, but he isn't really a great QB in any sense. Throwing the ball away over taking a sack or throwing a check down over throwing a pick is good, but if that's your claim to fame as a QB, you aren't very threatening. Since our strength is taking away their offenses strength, you're basically forcing Alex Smith to win the game for them. They may have good pass rushers but they don't have a particularly good run defense, so if we can run the ball well it will keep Geno out of too many bad situations. We match up well against them because our run D will (hopefully) stop their rushing game and make them rely on their weaker passing game. Our rushing game should take advantage of their weak rush D.
I have always thought Arrowhead was overrated. Great atmosphere but winning in NE is a lot harder than winning in Arrowhead. KC is better than us which is more important but if we play well we can win. there's not a game we can't win that is on the sched. obviously we aren't going to win them all but for any given week we can beat any of the teams on the remaining sched. there isn't anyone that scares you except maybe NE and we usually play them tough.
Winning in NE is harder because NE is a better team. I've been to a lot of games at Gillette and it's a great atmosphere, but they win games because they're good and not because of the building. I think teams get overwhelmed by the KC crowd. That building helps win games. And it's not about being scared by anyone--yes we could theoretically beat them all. But that's just not realistic. We may think we're better than Buff and Miami, but we're not sweeping them. In years past--even though it never came to fruition--I always imagined we'd sweep them. I can't fathom that now. _
the quality of team always matters. I don't buy the Arrowhead hype. I have seen them lose too many big games there. I don't expect to sweep Buf and Mia, I expect to split though. I would expect 4-5 or 5-4 the rest of the way.
It kinda sucks with the way that the schedule was set up. I have to think that if they hadnt played 4 Hall of Famers in a row (and Cutler and Stafford) that they could have stolen a game or two in there.
We've played 7 games, and 6 of those opponents have a pass first offense, which means moderate to strong success through the air opens up possibilities on the ground as the basis of their offense. Of the remaining 9 games, 8 of those opponents are run first offenses. This stat makes me a little hopeful.
Your like Jets orginization celebrating Mediocrity ,you came in 18th place in The sites football pool and you found that worthy of bragging about it in your signature. This is the problem we have with this team we caught a bunch of lucky breaks last year (Bucs,Pats) and finished 8-8 when it really was just fools gold
