I don't hate TJ....having said that..he's frustrated me with his laxadaisacal approach to hitting the line of scrimmage....but you guys are right, all he does is produce. So I shouldn't bitch.....and I apologize for doing so.

It's just that...I was watching Greene hit the LOS, breaking tackles, churning his legs....running like he's being chased by the cops.......it was refreshing.

hahaha that is the difference between the two.

TJ always looks non nonchalant while Greene runs as if this is going to be his last run of his career. He's the epitome of what Ryan wants from his running game... and he has speed to get down the field - i didn't see that coming. awesome.

Dude, I have been sticking up for TJ since he got here!

and ftr, I was a fan of his in Chicago. He was my sleeper in FF for a few years back then.

I'm gonna go find a post I put up in the Game thread that says what I was feeling in a nutshell....brb

    K , Found it....

It had a little anger in it but...

^ Well not everyone. But the consensus on the board is low on TJ. I for one have enjoyed every season he's given us.

I still would like to see him truck more dudes, because i know he has it in him.

Truck? More like his stiff arm...
He's got the guns and I remember it's one of the 1st things he did when he got here.

What's ironic is that he is almost exactly like Curtis...shifty, patient but w/ more speed.
Now, I'm not saying he is just their running styles are very similar.

Actually, CM towards the end needed a hole or he began running up the linemen's asses.
TJ still tries to create when there's nothing there.
Yesterday, he was shifting, hurdling, gashing.....loved it

and ftr, I am a BIG Shonn fan and am glad he's our FUTURE back.
I just hope the kid can stay healthy.

You are right; you and the other people on this board who are CONSTANTLY bitching about TJ do not hate him. You just hate his style of running. You are not alone. At some point Arizona, Tampay and Chicago all had enough of a problem with his running style to let him go. He's a shifty, very patient cut-back runner who's extremely durable. That style has enabled him to gain the 2nd most rushing yards in the past 5 years behind only LT. And with the way LT is going lately, he will surely past him and take over the #1 spot.

I don't see how any Jet fan can like Curtis Martin and complain about TJ. Towards the latter part of Martin's career he was pretty much the same type of player. I wonder what kind of numbers TJ would have at this point in his career had he been drafted by a franchize who had real faith in him.

Despite the amount of disrepect TJ has gotten from fans and NFL FOs alike, he continues to keep his head down and work, off and on the field. You have to admire and respect that.
