Correct me if im wrong here, but dont we have 3 receivers that are over 6-2 ( patrick turner, eeron reily, and chaz schillens.) and two of them have great speed. and have not produced shit everybody talks that sanchez needs big body receivers to throw to wich we have and they dont produce. T.O. would be an even worse option

    Damn it.

    You beat me to it.

    Don't steal my line! (LOL!)

    That said:

T.O. had ACL STEM CELL surgery in Korea or something - who knows if he's running on one leg. What a spectacular deep threat, eh?

Yeah, did the OP really say "low risk"? Too funny.

T.O. would be a worse option than Patrick Turner, Eeron Reily and Chaz Schillens? WTF is going on here? Is this a serious message?

I'll take him if he converts to right tackle.

The OP is the only person here making any sense... WR is one of our problems and T.O. is a 1 year option at league minimum that has tremendous upside. He just has to perform at 2010 levels and be our No. 1 receiver. If nothing else he may open up Holmes.

I wouldn't have a problem with bringing in Terrell Owens. He could fill that spot Plax played last year as our red zone target. I would only have an issue if the Jets sign him to be the number 2. We should either draft a wide reciever, or sign a veteran young receiver to be the number 2.

T.O as a 4th or 5th receiver is okay in my book

T.O as the number 2 bad idea

Tim Duncan had that same type of procedure done on both of his knees this past offseason in Europe and he's playing like he was 5 years ago. Not saying the same thing will happen for TO, bit I am less skeptical on that front.

It's low risk at that salary because you can easily cut him if he fucks up and he knows that.

The problem with that is that Ryan may not know he fucked up. He had no idea that Holmes did. Owens has a reputation of destroying the locker room in every city he played except maybe Buffalo. The Jets really don't need him even if he came free.

T.O.'s past issues have been very vocal and very public. Pretty much impossible to not see. Also, I think our offensive coaching staff should shoulder a good portion of that blame. Sparano is from the Parcells tree - he probably doesn't take any shit.

Him being broke and needing to work for a second contract could help quite a bit too.

we need roster spots to be filled with players that are gonna contribute.
you say just cut him.do u think if we are 5-1 he is gonna be acting up? no TO would become a distraction when sanchez is playing poorly our record sucks and then on top u would then "just cut our #2 wr?

why not just avoid him completely and let our #2 be a player sanchez can build a relationship with.

every $$ counts in football no matter how small we don't need this piece of garbage

Wasn't TO with Parcells and Sparano in Dallas?

I guess not, looks like he got there the same year they left.

At this point T.O. would be a better option than no one. And what do we have to lose? he destroys the locker room and we lose? 1 year added on to the other 43 failures wont hurt a bit.

so in week 8 if he's a problem you just cut him??????????????
    then we're stuck without a #2 wr.

I know we did it last season [mason] but we probably won't have a kerley ready to play.

We have a guy in Schillens that could end up being our #2 WR this season anyway. So what if we upgrade by signing a T.O. and we have to cut ties?

Schillens has been on the team and had time to develop some chemistry - just like Kerley stepping in for Mason last year.

Obviously the better situation is to get a guy early in the draft that can step right in or get Braylon. I think T.O. could be a realistic low risk alternative if neither of those happen.

And until he proves otherwise he is not healthy and can't play.
