Good trade. Pretty much and even swap in the OF. The way I see it, it's Rolen for Smoltz. Rolen is a risk but I think Smoltz is was overated, I think the curve is on it's way down in ATL. Glad we could work this out before opening day. The negotiation was painless.

Painless indeed. My first instinct was to reject it. Rolen is a huge question mark. He has tremendous upside, and tremendous downside as well. I'm glad I can get Smoltz. He's had a great spring. He'll help me out a ton :)

Foulke can have a 0.00 ERA in like 4 innings in the spring all he wants, he still sucks and most likely won't be closing, or maybe even the majors by June.

I don't know what the waiver wire is set at but I think the trade transaction timeline is too long. Me and M.Moss agreed to a trade days ago and it still hasn't gone through yet. This should be a league that rewards active managers... I suppport a 1 day waiver wire and a 1 day trade transaction period... I believe that's how it was last year, no?

I agree, too. Although, 2 days for waivers may not be bad, but 1 is fine, too.

I think the 12 of us are smart enough to more or less be able to make trades freely and a 1 day would suffice. It's more like 1.5 days anyway.. the day you made the trade, plus another one.

I'd worry more about Derek Lowe's performance today :)

Yeah, he sucked. But I'd rather have him than Foulke.

And like I thought, it looks like Foulke already lost his job. With a one run lead in the 9th, Jonathan Papelbon was brought in to close it out. He did so flawlessly.

What's up with the can't cut list? we didn't have that last year either. Those things are stupid and they're made for public leagues where nobody knows each other... all they do is punish managers that get hurt players and don't give them a chance to recover.

We did have the Do not cut list last year but we shall put it too a vote.

New league vote for the following items:

    1. Removal of the Do Not Cut List.

    2. Timeframe of waivers

    3. Timeframe of trade acceptence.

Please let your votes by known by responding in this thread, the league web site or via pm.

Remove the Do Not Cut list.
Change (or keep) waiver timeframe at 2 days.
Change trade acceptance to 1 day.
