It doesnt make a difference in regards to skill, one game doesn't determine if a player can play or not. Perception though it makes a worlds difference. Imagine what people would be saying about Flacco right now if he hadnt won? or how about Eli Manning? or hell even Aaron Rodgers or Drew Brees? Once a champion, always a champion.
I don't think Wilson's stock will be effected much if at all if he has a bad game and the Seahawks win. That's the Ben Roethlisberger exemption from the 2005 SB. I'm not sure how much it would be effected if he had a bad game and the Seahawks lost. He's very young still and he'd probably get a pass on a bad day as long as he kept it together and managed the aftermath well. I think his stock will rise dramatically if he plays well and the Seahawks win. That would put the late season slump behind him in a convincing fashion.
His stock will rise dramatically if he wins, for the rest of his career, NBC/FOX/CBS will always get to market him as a Super Bowl winning QB. Considering hes only in his second year, that likely means 10+ years of credibility guaranteed.
Heres something I heard that I found interesting, Wilson went to the Super Bowl last year in New Orleans and studied the football movement difference in the Super Bowl (switching balls, speed of the game, time differences, commercial differences etc).
Seahawks - 27 Broncos - `17 Russel Wilson Super Bowl MVP. (Would go with Lynch but the Broncos will play to stop him).
Broncos - 23 Seahawks - 21 Manning throws one TD, one gets run in and forced to kick 3 FGs. Lynch runs in two TDs, one throwing TD. Manning named MVP even with only one receiving TD, because he throws for a pile of yards and no TOs.

Would have gone for it. Denver defense was not looking good. Also, I guess Pete challenged that it was a 1st down, not that the spot was just wrong?
I believe they changed the rule a season or two ago where you had to challenge the first down in that scenario but I'm not 100% sure.
