IDK tbh, i watched ESPN the last couple days and nearly every person on was picking the broncos, every guest was picking the Bronocs. You have actually provided evidence that shows the opposite but I just havent gotten that vibe at all. Its either even or its pointing toward the Broncos.
It really doesnt matter though, the last time the overwhelming popular pick actually won was probably the Steelers over the Cardinals.
Brady passed more in 2013 than he did in 2011 (-17), 2010 (-136), 2009 (-63), 2008 (injured), and 2007 (-50). In 2012 he threw 9 times more. This is according to PFR. If you want to argue talent around him, what about 2009 Welker that outperformed Edelman on less passes by the NE offense, without Gronk or Hernandez and with Moss being traded and Brady coming off an injury? That was the year Welker got hurt unfortunately in the final game. If Welker signs in NE, Amendola still gets hurt, Edelman could have still been productive than whoever had to replace Amendola. The NE FO messed up there. I don't know the details behind it, but yeah they could have used him heading into the season and clearly during the season. But to circle this back to the SB, the RZ for DEN and Welker is key. The Seahawks have the best RZ D, unsurprisingly. Welker's TD receptions this year: 5 yards 2 yards 2 yards 12 yards 6 yards 4 yards 2 yards 20 yards 6 yards 1 yard 3 yards So yes, every TD Welker got this year is in the RZ and 9 of them are within 5 yards of the EZ. Welker in the RZ is important to me because the Seahawks have a big corners which I think will take out any jump balls/fade/1 vs 1 throws in the EZ to either Thomas. This means Welker needs to work in the RZ to help get DEN TDs instead of FG. Welker is annoying in this situation because he's quick. He's not going to beat most secondary players in straight line speed, but in close quarters he has something (maybe footwork?) where he can get a step on a defender off the bat. Now this comes back to Peyton's arm and if he is able to thread a needle to get it to Welker when he creates that second of separation.
Ahh I haven't been watching any TV at all so that explains that  I don't trust the guests on TV. They just go as you mentioned by the best QB. When the "experts" or the writers who follow football all year, they see it as a 55/45 split that favors the Seahawks. I think that's accurate. I don't think either team should be overwhelming favorites
I like Edleman as a WR and he's a great returner but Welker is head and shoulders better than him. I'd take either of them but Edleman is really good, Welker is great. Would so love to see him get a ring, would love to hear his comments afterward because I'm sure he'll take a veiled shot at the Pats or Belli. _
Well these guests have some credibility, like dismorning Cam Newton picked the Broncos. They had a ton of other players and most of em seemed to be picking the Broncos.
I hope he would do that this year, but I don't think he would do that. I did like I think when Rex wrote something on the ESPN bus in 2010 or 2009, Welker responded with a comment. I like him in general when he doesn't play us.
IDK if you like this analogy, but it kinda reminds me of the Heat/Spurs finals in terms of the picks.
SEA beat CAR this year earlier this year  And yeah I was mean to "guests". Some of them could definitely be legitimate. I was just lumping them together which isn't fair
I could see that, that's a good one. I'm guessing something like this? The Heat/Broncos have been so good all year, but the Seahawks/Spurs seem to be the more complete team. They have talent everywhere and it seems they are healthier than the Heat/Broncos. The Spurs/Seahawks have more depth too, but the other team has the best player in the league. The big difference of course, in the NFL, having the best player doesn't mean nearly as much as it does in the NBA. I like that analogy.
That and the Heat seemed like the destined team, similar to the Broncos, while the Spurs people hesitated a lot with, and the Seahawks similarly because despite being the #1 seed, people still had the 49ers beating em. Will it play out like the NBA Finals? possibly, which would mean Manning takes his team on a game winning drive against the best secondary I have personally seen.
In a perfect world this Super Bowl comes to the Broncos down 4-6 points, same spot Colin Kaepernick was in, game on the line.
I'd rather see the opposite. I want to see Wilson on the line vs this Broncos D that is leaky and see Wilson work magic in the pocket while driving the team down the field. It would be cool to if SEA offense or Denver defense makes the final play in the game clinching victory, instead of the strengths of the team.
Im not sure if anyone else feels this way, but I would feel more confident with Wilson driving the field and winning the game against the Broncos defense rather than Peyton driving the field against Seattles defense.
Unless the Broncos OL has been torn to shreds all night long, I'd feel more comfortable with Peyton. I wouldn't be upset if I had to take Wilson in this scenario, but I'd take Peyton most of the time.
