Final prediction: Panthers to win + cover, and the under. 27-14. MAYBE the Denver D slows them down even more than I think they will, but they'd have to hold Carolina to 10-17 pts to have a chance. Carolina's D is no slouch, and I have zero confidence in Peyton Manning.
I'm gonna try Blabseal first to stream the game. Can anyone recommend any other good streaming options if Blabseal is a no-go?
I usually use firstrowsports if Blabseal is not streaming the game. Blab is awesome the HD quality saves me from buying the package...I'm sure he will be streaming the game.
Panthers 31 Broncos 16 I don't think much else needs to be said. It is going to take a LOT of things to happen for Denver, and for the Panthers to play poorly, for this to be a close game in the 4th quarter. Denver will have a very hard time being competitive with the Panthers team that rolled through the Seahawks and Cardinals. There is no reason to think Peyton will play well or avoid turnovers in this brutal matchup for Denver's offense. And Cam is too good to predict less than 24 points on offense for the Panthers. In the build-up, we have seen the typical fallacy thinking by fans and sports writer's alike, that as you advance each round in the playoffs, the opponent gets tougher. But that's simply not true. Panthers played their toughest opponent in the divisional round. The Broncos are not a great football team, they are a great D and terrible O. They have not faced anywhere near a complete team in the AFC playoffs, and struggled to barely win each game. Winning close games is not a skill, stats have shown that it is random and has no predictivity going forward. If you are continually in close games and manage to win most, it's not because you were some great and gritty team, it's because you were very fortunate. And the odds are the next season you will revert to the norm. The indicator of great team is winning decisively. Look at these two teams and ask yourself who has done that consistently this season. And, for sake of argument, let's say it is close in the 4th quarter - would you rather have the MVP or the worst starting QB in football in that type of game? That type of game still heavily favors Carolina.
I'm picking the Broncos. I think Newton will struggle with that defense. Also Carolina got to where they are because led the league in creating turnovers. Manning wont turn it over tonight. Ill say Broncos 20 Carolina 16
In 18 games, Carolina has scored 27 or more 15 times and only once did they score under 20. That is a bold prediction --- I just don't see anyway they are held to 16 points.
dropped 250 on Denver +6 for the heck of it.. i'm essentially betting on no major turnovers early, with the defensive play of both teams turning the game into a chess match. the better defense will end up winning a close one.
I have a feeling tomorrow people will be talking about how underrated the Denver D was. If Manning protects the ball and the WRs don't drop it I could see a low scoring game that Denver wins. I'm betting Denver and the under.
Bingo. People forget how bad they made Palmer look and Wilson (at times). Manning and the Broncos passing game is such an easier challenge.
Got a few friends coming over for the game so I'm firing up the grill as well. Keeping it simple with a couple of steaks. After a bit of a cold snap here in LA, today is sunny and warm. What are you cooking?
