This Super Bowl sucked. Really boring, ugly game. Carolina never threatened, even down only 6 in the 4th. The game never was in doubt.
I was rooting for Denver and I was rooting against Carolina. I thought it was a great exciting and interesting game. I love defense so I'm biased. And I don't like showboats so there is that aspect too. _
Absolutely that's part of it. I wanted Cam and the Panthers to win, but once the game started I found myself more neutral than I thought I would be. More than anything I think we've been spoiled by absolute classics recently: Pats-Hawks, Ravens-49ers, Giants-Pats, Steelers-Cards, even Packers-Steelers and Saints-Colts were great games. This one just bored me. To each his own.
I enjoyed the game, didn't really care who won just wanted a good game. I'm a big fan of defensive football so that helped. Would have been nice if Carolina made it a one score game but still a good game overall.
Game was boring to everyone I watched it with. I don't care if it's low scoring, but there was never any point where either team looked threatening. Never any point where a defense had to make a huge stop. Punt after punt, snooze fest.
And usually even in a defensive struggle there is a smattering of crucial offensive plays, a big third down conversion or something of the like. None of that in this game. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
How would anyone rate this defensive performance? I can't help but compare it to the 2000 Ravens. The total yards were more than the Ravens D gave up that game, but both were completely dominant in every way. Give Talib a few more brain cells and they would have shut it down even more.
