This is so true. Mangini instead of seeing what he could do with what he had, went and got what he felt he needed. Cleaned house and made this team his own. The guys who stayed on are on notice. I haven't seen tackles this crisp in years. Guys are consistantly giving second and third efforts. That's part of the little details. Your last sentence is the single most important contributer to any success this team earns this season.
This article only adds to my excitement. I'm glad we have a real coach here. Everything the media writes now (well, at least most of them) is a contradiction of what they were writing all of training camp.
The two biggest positives of this game were the QB play, and the coach actually having balls and going for the jugular rather then playing Herm's conservative not to lose style. The biggest thing here is I actually feel week in and week out the Jets will at least come to play and not be embarressed like they were a million times over last year (Panthers game, Chiefs, Pats on Monday night etc.) I mean I didn't even know what the hell Chad was doing when he lined up a couple yards behind the center. Then I was reminded that its called a "shot-gun" formation. Now being a Jet fan over the last 5 years I'd never seen this foreign concept but if you guys tell me its called a "shot-gun" I'll take your word for it.
Others also had your problem - here's a tutorial thread on it: http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=11245
sure we will lose games, but we are headed in the right direction - as I see it. Heck, the Packers were 7-5 in Lombardi's first year when the league didn't have as much parity. "Feb. 2, 1959, Lombardi arrived in Green Bay and told the committee, "I want it understood that I am in complete command here." Sounds like the same kind of approach Mangini is taking.
