If all that happens I'm sure some will come up with even more prerequisites to be considered a good team. It's funny watching the backpedaling.
He was an absolute beast. Pulling to the outside all day and flying around like a 20-something. I have a feeling he was a big part of Laken Tomlinson grading out well this week.
Yes, every time this team accomplishes something, suddenly it’s the NEXT game they have to win to show they are legit. Of course, no matter how great of a streak they go on, eventually they will lose and people can say ‘I told you so’.
Greg Bubbles had to be downright effervescent after the game. I've always called him that because no matter how atrocious the loss or how meaningless the win Greg Bubbles would always come out with something like, "Well, the Jets may have been demolished, but that one stop there by that scrub there, ya got to be excited about that, Marty." This team has a lot of talent. Well, they do. Let's go, I'm ready. Well, I've been ready for over the past 50 years but let's not get too technical here.
I was getting done with this guy, but he's gotten a temporary reprieve because I am the Queen! The Queen of . . . something, whatever, I forget. As to the purposeful suckage of the refs, I had ordered my henchmen to throw them in the dungeon upon game's end to await their execution because I am the Queen! The Queen of . . . something, whatever, I forget.
So glad you added Quincy to the Studs list. Just 2 weeks after being carted off with a potentially season ending ankle, he come back early and pounded the Cheeseheads. He (and CJ as you said) were ALL OVER the field. Some of Quincy's hits are down right brutal.
Finding duds is getting more difficult by the week. This Jets team is playing well rounded football right now. I thought Zach was disappointing, but certainly wasn't "dud-worthy." I thought Garrett Wilson had a couple of minor head scratchers, but that could have easily been a playcalling issue. Definitely not a dud. I'd probably consider Elijah Moore a dud this week. Complaining on twitter about lack of targets when the team leader in targets was probably like 3 lol. I understand his frustration, but complaining after a win is a terrible look.
I feel i owe the man an apology for some of my unkind thoughts this summer. It's eye-popping seeing a man that large charging downfield. I've seen lots of Jets football, and I don't think I've seen that too often. He REALLY stood out. The fact that the O-Line executed some of those running plays and was the same group in consecutive games is really encouraging for us. Duane is a BIG reason.
The game where everyone was shouting at each other on the sidelines turned out to be a good thing after all. I felt that it might go that way at the time. They were not falling apart. It was that they all really gave a crap and were pissed off. One more thing: I love Quinnen and it was great seeing brother Quincy back finishing off ball carriers.
Or may be, just may be, we need to focus more on what they are doing now, which is excellent, and not continue to regurgitate last year with a far different and inferior roster. That criticism was appropriate last year, but is worthless now.
Stud-Quincy Williams. That dude is flying all over the fiend and single-handedly improved our run defense. Dud- Zach Wilson. We’re 4-2 so much gets overlooked, but overall Zach’s play has been awful. <60% completions, 1 TD (1 rushing), 2 Ints. The best we can say about Zach is he hasn’t cost us terribly with turnovers. With the D playing the way it has along with the firepower on offense we are undoubtedly a top tier team if we have a quality caliber QB. Zach needs to start putting full games together and show why he was drafted 2 overall
what did I say that was wrong? Has he thrown more than one TD in 3 games? Has he rushed for more than one? Does he not have <60% completion thus far? Is he not our weakest link right now? We have a nearly elite D, we have a dangerous WR group amongst the better ones in the league, we have a solid TE group and our OL has played very well despite countless setbacks. What we’ve seen from Zach has not been nearly as good as Mark Sanchez this far into their careers. In fact Sanchez was much better to this point frankly. I’m as happy as anyone that we’re winning, I’m just not one of those people that ignore the check engine light just because it seems like the car is running alright. So far the only argument for Zach is he has a strong arm. There’s literally threads on here saying you can’t judge him for lack of TD’s. You can’t judge him on completion percentage, you can’t judge him on accuracy, wtf can you judge him on? His intangibles better start becoming tangible someday.
nothing tangible at all to argue. So you’re just one of those guys that feels we should never talk about our players when they’re not doing well? Ok, go ahead and put me on ignore. I’m gonna call you Emmitt from now on anyway, Everything is awesoooommeeee!!!
Zach is developing along smartly and slowly by MLF. He has done a good job at managing to our running strengths and find receivers when needed. He has been able to keep the chains moving and done nothing to jeopardize this game with interceptions, unnecessary sacks or hero plays. .Was he a stud, no, but a solid contributor to the victory on Sunday and each and every game. Far from a dud. People want to see 300 yards and three TD on every turn. Not me, I just want him to do what is needed to preserve the win.
It is still early in the season. The Miami win would have been a bigger accomplishment if we were facing off against their starting quarterback but it was still a big deal for this young team. The Packers game was a solid win against a top team where we didn't need any trick play or a lucky bounce to come out on top. We now play Denver at their house with ridiculous altitude on top of the travel and time difference followed by division games against the Bills and Patriots. Our trial by fire has just begun.
His contribution was not committing a turnover. This is our standard to hold the #2 overall draft pick to? In his second season? You draft a QB 2 overall to be the guy to put the team on his shoulders, not the anchor that you pray doesn’t fuck up enough to lose the game.
Mark Sanchez had 33 interceptions while completing 54% of his passes through his first 2 seasons. Yes, miles better. I'm not going to attack the poster but the notion that Mark Sanchez was a much better QB at the same stage Zach is just ingorant.
