When he's 100% (meaning not injured of fatigued) I'd definitely put him in the top 3 NTs in the league.

The only issues are of course injuries, and the fact that, naturally, he gets tired pretty frequently.

He's missed a lot of snaps due to fatigue, and our backups, while okay players, get exploited immediately. Additionally, I've noticed in each game that, by the 4th Quarter, Jenkins stops driving those double teams 3 yards deep, and instead simply holds his own against them. It's still impressive, but it's a visible dropoff...

I guess that's the price you pay for having a mammoth at NT...

  2. Hopefully the Bye week helps this. We're gonna need him down the stretch. The D is night and day w/ him in the game as compared to w/o him.

I'm starting to love this defense and I think Lowery is on the fast track to being a standout player. Aside from him, Revis and Rhodes, however, our secondary is still questionable. And this worries me.

Quote: "...When I saw his named listed due to a fumble recovery (the recovery usually isn't the important stat, but the person who caused it) and 9 tackles... I just didn't get it...."

That Lowery forced a fumble that Poteat picked up and ran with is absolutely true. He tackled the ball, it popped out.

Lowery was not the choice all night long. He made tackles from being in zone coverage also.

    Lowery is a rook.

But he is one HELL of a rook!

People who want Sutton fired just don't remember that this is Mangini's defense, and that Sutton works for Mangini, and that Sutton makes sure that Mangini's strategy and tactics are ALWAYS made clear to the players.

There's no way in hell that Sutton is going to be fired by Mangini, in my opinion.

i like our corners but i really think we need to draft a safety high next year. kerry is good but sometimes he's suspect in coverage. we need someone to lock up this secondary for years to come, eric smith aint gettin the job done.
