Sal made a mistake, he apologized for it and he paid the price. Apparently its okay in the NFL if you torture animals or sexually assault women, but kneeing a guy on the sidelines is totally unforgiveable. What a bunch of hyrpocrites.
Well, not quite. It's acceptable to try to trip a guy on the sidelines if you are on the Patriots. If you play for the Panthers, you can come off the bench and deck a gunner going down your sidelines, and only face a $15K fine, no suspension. But when the Jets are involved, six figures in fines, and a guy loses his job.
Well, the league did come down harder on the Jets, as well. I guess the league has higher standards for the Jets, as well.
I still don't understand why he didn't defend himself by saying he just twitched a little because an NFL player was running full speed at him and misjudged the spot in which he was standing. His foot remained on the ground throughout the whole incident it was his knee/thigh that made contact. I would have said it was a "knee-jerk" reaction no pun intended
This should have been the expected outcome. It was a highly public scandal and someone's head had to roll. I'd rather see Alosi go than Westhoff. I'd trade a career of Sal Alosi for 1 more season of Westhoff.
This is just evidence that everything the Jets do gets put under the microscope, and other teams can get away with the same acts. The Jets may talk a bit, but a lot of this image that seems to have developed about the Jets appears to be manufactured. Alosi is the one guy who did this who has gotten all the negative attention. Almost nothing on the Pats. Almost nothing on the Panthers. It's all about finding another excuse for bashing the Jets.
does anyone else find the word resign confusing? I wasnt sure if he resigned or re-signed until I read more into the thread.
Vick did spend time in jail and missed 2 seasons of his career and had to change teams. Sal is free to get a job w/ another team if he can.
Haha come on. Vick tortured animals and lost his job. After spending time in prison he was able to work his way back to where he was before Ben was never convicted, not sure if he was even charged. But if you would like to bring up more invalid comparisons, by all means...
Judge: "Mr. Gambini?" Vinny: "Yes sir?" Judge: "That is a lucid, intelligent, well thought out objection." Vinny: "Thank you, your Honor." Judge: "Overruled!"
Great News!!! I'm glad he resigned with us, from what I hear he gets our players strong. Ont top of that he gets them well conditioned. A bonus is taking Dolphags down. I hope you don't think I'm serious
When is the NFL going to take action on the video that Glazer showed of a Pat player trying to trip the Jet gunner?
He did a wonderful job keeping big jenks in football shape. All sarcasm aside, this team does not need more negative publicity from, of all places, a strength and conditioning coach. Good luck to him elsewhere.
