Thank you, but ftr while that might be an explanation for what happened and what Ryan is thinking, it does not necessarily describe a recipe for success. I have real questions myself about even trying to have less of a pass oriented offense than most of the rest of the league is going with.
If all the rest of the league is going for a pass orientated program this will leave all the players that we need for a real ground 'n' pound offense. With the defence that we have and I'm sure Rex will improve it further, we will find it easier to stop a pass orientated offence than a run offence - unless of course the NFL make this into even more of a non contact game, where you can't touch the QB or receivers.
There is always the chance that it works and the rest of the league follows. Quite honestly having an OC who shares Rex run 1st, 2nd and 3rd philosophy might allow him time to patch up the holes on the defense which has been quite disapointing as of late.
The Jets are built to be a run-oriented team Why can't we play to our strenghts Pats do that every year
If there was not a coaching change I would agree. However, new head coaches often want their own guys. Sparano was parcels guy, not Phillips. Those are facts as well.
They are the 1 and 2 receivers. Neither gets consistent separation or can burn a defender downfield. If those are you WR's then yes, the team is designed to run.
