No it's not, because what if he blows out his knee again in middle of the season? Stop it. This is a QB.
No offense, but that's a dumb counter argument. Teddy had a career threatening injury and might never be the same; he hasn't played in 2 years. Rosen/Baker have never suffered such a severe injury and your proposed injury is a hypothetical; Teddy's is already a fact.
Just because the other team made lousy picks with all the picks they got from Ditka doesn't mean it was a good trade. It was an insane idea and trade and Ditka was rightfully fired over it.
Sorry, but the bolded part is completely wrong. 15-20 years ago, when the best RBs went in the 1st round, that was pretty much true, but not now. Excellent, starting-quality RBs can often be found all the way through the draft and even as UDFAs. Guice and Michel are projected as late 1st round or early 2nd round. Chubb and Penny are projected as late 2nd round or 3rd round. All of those guys are 3 down backs, starting caliber RBs, and the difference between what they can do in the NFL and what Barkley can do, is probably negligible.
I think what you meant to say is you disagree, because it's certainly not wrong. 1. Gurley, Gordon, Zeke, Fournette were all first round guys and are all legit 3-down backs. How many 3-down backs were drafted after them in the last few years? Dalvin Cook is a wait-and-see. Kamara right now is friggen phenomenal but he's splitting time. Those two are the closest... after that you're looking at the likes of Carlos Hyde (maybe) and have to go back to 2013 with LeVeon Bell to find a true stud 3-down RB. 2. You have no idea what Chubb, Penny, Guice, Michel are going to be in the NFL. Labeling them 3-down, starting caliber RBs is a little irresponsible at this point in the game. 3. There are a few guys who are the exception to that rule... and Barkley is an exception to that rule x100. He is Chubb and Michel combined. He's better than Chubb as a power runner and better than Michel as a pass-catcher/breakaway guy. He's a complete stud. Going off their college careers and what's on tape, there is no way in hell anyone can convince me what Barkley might do in the NFL compared to what those guys might do is negligible.
So far. Him in New York with millions in his pocket is a mistake. It doesn't really matter, if they traded up to 3 to take him they will continue to be the laughing stock of the NFL.
Even Jamal Adams said last night we moved up for our franchise QB. Can we stop the Barkley shit now? LOLZ
I don't think so. I think he will be fine here, and of all the QB's has the toughest skin to handle the New York media.
Yea Adams can connect the dots like the rest of us. But I guarantee you he hasn't talked to Mac since the end of the season.
Now you're just being a fool. Get over it my friend, we're taking a QB. The sooner you accept that the better you will feel come draft night.
Dude I know we are taking a QB. But Adams isn't part of those discussions. At all. Dude is guessing like the rest of us.
He isn't in the discussion for the actual QB selection obviously, but clearly he knows (like everyone) that a QB is the pick.
OK but you said "You don't think one of our best players isn't aware of the fact that we moved up for a QB?" Implying that he has some sort of information that the rest of us don't. The fucking cashier in Plaza Level 135 at MetLife knows we are taking a QB.
