^Yeah it is pretty petty for his comments to even cross your mind. Unless you just are hoping for other people to feel bad. I'm sure he is feeling bad for saying it. I am certain Steve god damn Johnson is the last thing on victims and their families mind right now.
In regards to Stevie Johnson... if you have nothing good to say, then don't say anything at all. I don't find 9/11 humor funny. I don't find Stevie Johnson's comments funny. I don't find comedians that do this funny. If people want to laugh about shit like this that's fine, its their right. When they put it in the public view then they get what they deserve when they are pointed out as being douchebags.
Your view is a fair one if you apply it consistently like you said. But people that jump all over him because some asshole happened to bomb Boston, as if the 2 things are related at all, are full of shit with their false outrage. As I said, hate him for his comments, fine. But the Boston bombings don't make his comments worse.
Dude, it's not like he's making fun of the people who died or telling jokes about the marathon. The dude was talking shit on twitter that day nonstop to Pats fans, and mentioned North Korea bombing because it was in the news at the time. It's not like he advocated a terrorist attack or was even serious. His comments had nothing to do with the marathon or what happened. It was just a friggin coincidence that some asshole decided to kill innocent people in a place nearby. People should be outraged at that guy, not the pro football player who made a joke a few weeks earlier that had nothing to do with it. I'm tired of the over sensitive politically correct nonsense. Context matters. Intention matters. Action matters. Couldn't agree more. The events aren't related and Stevie already said his piece about praying for the victims. People need to calm down and realize actions speak louder than words. He wasn't actually advocating an attack or anything close.
I'm not making a mountain out of a molehill. I don't think anything should happen as a result of Stevie's comments nor do I think its worth spending a lot of time to think about it. My thoughts are that he's a douchebag and that's the end of it. I'm not someone who believes everything should be PC but bombs and nukes and people dying cross the funny line. As Beach said, I feel this way about all people who say similar things about similar topics. If you say it publicly, it shouldn't be a shock that people out there think poorly of them for it. Its not like anyones suggesting Johnson should be held accountable for anything. Just saying he's a moron. Thats it.
I agree, he is a moron. But he has the same freedom of speech we all do. I'm pretty sure after the attack he said it was "ironic" that it actually happened. There was actually nothing ironic about it at all. It was a coincidence and wasn't even related. Dude's just a dumbass he didn't intend malice. I just think the backlash on him after the fact is blown out of proportion. The media makes a good practice of blaming every person under the sun for something except the guy who is actually responsible. It's absurd the way lawyers have ruined this country. You can slip on a banana peel on the sidewalk and sue the town, the company that paved the sidewalk, the business nearby, the local school, etc etc. Forget the guy that threw the banana peel there, or the guy who didn't watch where he was going.
