Weatherford was cut because Westy didn't like like how he gagged in the playoffs while with the Jets.

 

Quigley chokes under pressure all the time, I'd take Weatherford

 

I was hoping we would draft a punter late last year guess I'll be hoping again come 2016

 

Matt, I saw Quigley first hand in back-to-back seasons and (if I may say so) have often posted here that he does not have a 'big' NFL leg. That said I think Weatherford's best days are behind him. His gross average has dropped every single year for the past three seasons. I'd like to get another punter, just not sure about Weatherford at the stage of his career.

 

Agreed 6th and 7th round picks are basically useless, you can get a good punter In those rounds, the kid on Temple yesterday was booming 65 yarders all day

 

I know you're right Joe, but so many teams have useful punters and we haven't had a real punter since Tom Tupa, just frustration talking

 

I think this organization downplays how important field position really is
