Hill's first two seasons have been injury plagued. There have been some drops but also flashes. Like Milliner, he'd look better if the other players at his position (SANTONIO!!!) were having more productive seasons. He's worth keeping around
If Hill sucks next year, do we keep him around for a fourth? Hell, at this rate, Vernon Gholston would still be on the team unless someone was willing to make the decision to cut him. Sometimes, you just have to admit that the you should have drafted someone else. Hill hasn't been right since his first really big hit he took. He might be thinking about that every time he steps on the field and if that's the case, he's already played his best ball.
Hill isnt worth keeping in my eyes.Unless he is willing to be 7 th on the depth chart. The WR position is to important to waste roster spots on guys like Hill next year.Id like to see us try and trade him for a 5th or 6 th try and get something back in return for this disaster.Hes had two good games both against Buffalo .
If you can trade him for picks, that would interesting. But with the lack of depth the Jets already have at WR, I would just keep him. If we assume Santonio is gone, that leaves Kerley, Hill, Nelson, and Salas? I'd keep Hill unless a team comes looking for him
Hell, Hill has burned secondaries multiple times this season. Unfortunately for him, Geno Smith is throwing the ball and he just lobs it up giving every DB on the field a chance to go for it too.
Hill has been blanketed all year outside of Buffalo game 1. The only times he truly burned anyone was the Steelers game and the first Buffalo game. The guy is a total wash. Its very sad that Hill was benched on a team that is starting players off the street. Thats all you need to know about this guy.
So you think he was benched because of his lack of performance and not because of his injury. Some crazy logic there.
Do you not even bother to read Rexs pressors? He clearly indicated he was getting benched due to lack of production at WR weeks back.
It's sad that there is always this battle among the fans of bust vs. patience. I don't think the comparison is fair. Gholston showed absolutely NOTHING from basically his 2nd week of rookie camp onward. He never flashed potential or demonstrated ability to make plays. Hill has made a good amount of big plays when he's been healthy. He's also showed potential in camp.He was raw coming out & most WRs take 3 years to develop to begin with. Expecting more & being disappointed is fair. Especially since bonehead Joey Clinkscale compared him to Calvin Johnson on his draft day. But it's not fair to put him in the same category as Vernon Gholston.
I didn't compare Hill to Gholston. I compared Gholston's apologists to Hill's. Your post sounds strangely like one from a Gholston apologist ...
And you are making this 'accusation' against ANYONE that isn't willing to label Hill an unmitigated bust. What, did he kick your dog or something? Dump your sister? LTJF's post was hardly a glowing endorsement or defense of Gholston and yet because he doesn't agree with you about Hill you are trying to smear his POV by associating it with be somehow unusually favorably disposed to one of the greatest drafting disasters in NFL history. Sounds like an agenda to me.... Why is this so personal to you that you need to come after anyone who isn't willing to adopt your POV? PS- he didn't say you were comparing the players.... He just said THE comparison wasn't fair: comparing those who've defended Hill to those who've defended Gholston. IOW he disagrees with your comparison. You chose to read it incorrectly. I agree with him.
For awhile I was. When people were labeling him a bust after his 2nd preseason game & he underwent a major scheme change from Mangini to Rex. I will never understand why people are SO quick to want to give up on young players. After 3 years if they aren't contributing..fine go head & write them off. But sheesh just let it play out a little.
Sometimes you just look at a guy and think "this guy just isn't a football player". And sometimes that's the truth.
We can just keep replacing the QB every year until we find one that can throw passes that Hill can catch.
Not ready to give up on him, but he's not starter quality. Not much of a choice this year with the injuries and lack of depth but he can't be a starter next year. Use him on go routes to give the defense something to think about and hope that he develops better ball skills and route running.
People want to win now. And if a player isn't playing like a HoFer as a rookie, he isn't good enough in their eyes.
There's a little bit between HOFer and what we've seen from Hill, no? A little growth would be nice. I still see a guy with no body control, no ability to create separation with route running and generally no sense of how to use his frame to his advantage. He also doesn't seem to know how to use his hands to catch a ball. In other words, he doesn't look like a football player. I don't expect to see a HOFer, we can start with football player.
Stephanie Hill is no longer a rookie dude,His play on the field is disgusting to watch. He had his chance this is the NFL not "Plainview Middle School" where you get 5 years to become productive and get a cup of ice water after every play
