Seriously though, is it that out of the question? If Arod went to Piniella and said that a big part of why he has "struggled" is the move to third, weither that's true or he just has some resentment toward Jeter or something, Piniella might make the move. I can just imagine the chaos.

    i think i may too...

But then again; this move would never happen.

We have one of the bests, young 2B in the game (Cano)

Jeter is the best SS in baseball, and the CAPTAIN of this team.

Arod, just go to another team... please

Well, that wouldn't happen because Jeter is the captain, and Lou would be run out of town before the first game of the season.

And also because the whole "uncomfortable at third theory" is a bunch of nonsense. Arod stinks because he's not made for this town.

IMO Girardie would be a disaster in NY. If he can't get along with the owners in Florida how do you suppose he would work with Steinbrenner? Plus I don't think his style of managing would work with the prima donna Yanks. The same could be said for Pinella as well. The way this team is built it doesn't matter who the manager is, it needs to be stripped down and rebuilt.

Even as we speak, Yankee scientists in Tampa are working on a secret process that could reannimate the lifeless body of Billy Martin. Said one undisclosed Yankee source: "His mind and wit will be as sharp as ever. The biggest problem will be keeping his apedages from falling off, like when he punches a player or kicks dirt on an umpire."

then Piniella should be fired immediately, hopefully he won't have that chance as hopefully ARod will be choking somewhere else.

Seriously guys, Arod's not going anywhere. He has a no trade clause, and has said he's staying.

This isnt the right team for Joe anymore unfortunately, which is squarely Steinbrenner's fault for his boner over one demensional rock em sock em sluggers. The Tampa regime has ruined this run.

Well, he said that he's committed to being a Yankee, but in the 15 minutes he spoke to the media, he never said that he would veto a trade out of NY, something that he has always said whenever he's had the opportunity to in the past.

I love Torre but I agree that it's time to make a change. He's lost control of the Yankees because this team was poorly constructed from a clubhouse point of view.

I don't like replacing him with Piniella, who I've always thought was overrated. Lou is basically a different version of Joe Torre who just screams at umpires more. The only reason to fire Torre is because the Yankees need a change of philosophy, and I don't see how Lou brings that.

Also, I hope Torre takes another job before retiring. I think that after all he's done for the Yankees, under such harsh conditions, he should be able to walk away from the game--not be forced out of it by Steinbrenner.

Eh, i don't read to much into that, only because his emotions seemed to take over in that interview.

And the way I see it is, if we're gonna suck, we might as well bring in a skipper like Sweet Lou and see someone swear and kick shit around.

The reason i would like Lou is because he would light a fire under these guy's asses. I like Torre and he has done great things for us(He will always be cheered at the Stadium by me). However it is time for a change.

Well thats a good, point. Torre is a hippi compared to lou. And for a veteran ball club that may be a good fit.

if you ask me torre sealed his fate when he catered to that trouble making sheffield....torre had his day....3-10 in his last 13 playoff games.....he made a fortune over here, got four rings and got himself into the hall of fame......he had great great teams and was a decent manager......and thats it.....dont let the door hit you in the ass joe
