This stat makes me happy, I know our Jets can pull off a big win on Sunday, cant wait to see them play in the Super Bowl!
This. Unless Richard Todd and Jack Lambert trot out there Sunday I'm not putting much stock in it. Todd's not being activated, is he? hmy:
This is what I call a "comfort stat". It makes fans feel better about what they are facing. Either way, even if the Steelers were undefeated in the last 20 AFC title games, streaks are made to be broken. I'm sure the Jets just want to win the game regardless of the circumstances. And yes, were 0-3 in my lifetime...and if we go 0-4 I will be really, really fucking depressed man.
That is why I am afraid of a letdown..I am 32 years old..I had watched the Steelers lose so many AFC Championship games at home that I had given up home..and when they finally won the Super Bowl I was sort of numb. I was at the 97 AFC Championship game at Three Rivers when Slash threw 2-3 INTS and the Steelers lost to the Broncos.
That's what the towel is for. Absorbs tears, or can serve as a primitive diaper depending on your needs.
In related news, the Jets have won 100% of the Super Bowls they've played in. So if we beat Pitt, we've really got nothing to be stressed about for the ensuing two weeks.
In further clarification...the sample size was too small to determine a success rate with any sort of accuracy.
To any Jet's fans venturing into Pittsburgh. First of all,.. wear your Jets garb with Pride. You may take some ribbing from a few folks, but for the most part,.. Steelers fans will respect it. Don't act like Philly fans, and you'll have a great time. I promise you,.. you walk up to a Steelers fan in a bar and say,. this is gonna be a great game,.. they're gonna buy you a beer. (Not if your a Jets fan from Pittsburgh mind you,. but if you're a legitimate out-of-towner New Yorker,.. people should treat you well) You have a great team,. a loudmouth coach,.. but some great fans. I respect that. Pittsburgh has some of the most obnoxious fans,.. and I love that too. Point being... I guess I'm glad to see this game as the AFC title game. It couldn't have happened to 2 more deserving teams. You have no idea how glad I am that Baltimore has been stifled once again. Best of luck,. Of course I hope the Steelers win,. but whoever goes forward,.. please beat the tar out of the NFC.
You would know better than I, has Baltimore done their trademark "the best team didn't win Saturday" routine?
From what I have seen, most rational Ravens fans have not been throwing out the " better team lost" line. In fact, many of them are questioning why they just cannot seem to take that step past us when it matters. They are coming to the realization that they are, and will continue to be, Steelers Lite.
The Jets did a lot to get out of the Patriots shadow last weekend. A win this week and next, and we'll be completely out of it.
The history of the Jets & Steelers will mean nothing come Sunday. I'll be honest though; There wouldn't be a better AFC franchise to beat than the Steelers to advance to the SB. So much history there. Just like, in my eyes, there wouldn't be a better franchise to beat than either the Cowboys or Packers out of the NFC to win the Lombardi. Beating the Steelers to advance to the SB, followed by a win over the cheese heads to win our 1st championship since 68-69? I wouldn't want it any other way. The 2010-2011 Jets would become a team to remember forever, & not just from Jet fans; from all fans who respect the history of the league. I predicted a Jets-Packers SB during the offseason, & I hope to god it happens. I made a thread about pulling for the Steelers over the Ravens before the heated game last week. Beating Manning & the Colts, Brady & the Patriots, along with Roethlisberger & the Steelers, to advance to the SB; would be something special for our loyal fan base & proud franchise.
