I think this OL rebuild was planned to take more than a season. The Edoga pick in my opinion will eventually be Shell’s replacement or maybe even Winters replacement depending on how things materialize. Next off season will be about the OT situation. I’m also curious to see how C is solved because Harrison - while providing a decent depth at C/OL - is really a spot starter/ second string type.
I am not disagreeing with you, but I am really happy with their moves and realized from the beginning of the offseason that we would probably not adequately address all of the holes of this roster. Mac has screwed up a lot lets not kid ourselves, but I think he has gradually built this team the right way. He might "have players fall to him" but he still doesnt pick busts in the 1st round and that has saved him. I think he should get his last chance with Gase at the helm and see where this goes. If the team still sucks than he should be promptly shown the door.
Imagine you build a castle with all kinds of catapults and archers inside, but you don’t build a mote and you leave the front door open.
So sad but true.. When I was younger I played Soccer and excelled at Swimming..but even as a kid when I heard guys talk about Football it was always "build from the trenches..first" and of course QB was always your most important position too
Its curious how many homers are just saying "it will be next off season for sure or the next draft class that our OL is addressed".. Getting a decent line together should not be like NASA planning an space mission..its just whether its a priority (an important one smh)
I think the status of the team is that they are hoping for an 8-8 or better season this year and then next year they will still have a ton of cash and all 7 draft picks at their disposal. 2020-2021 season I think they fully expect to make a run. It would be ideal if they could make the playoffs this year so Sam can get that experience, but I am not sure they can manage 10-6 or better. I think 9 wins is the teams best case scenario. Can't wait to see the team this year though. Should be much more fun to watch.
Surely the Archers will still shoot people that come through the open door though, if the door opening is only 4ft wide they will get most of them as they crush through, I will name this the Williams narrow squeeze defensive plan.
you are onto something here.....OL should be well represented next april and u could probably pencil in a first round OL pick for the jets, even at this point. Though i am not completely sold on WHO will make that selection.
At least fucking "homers" know how many games their FQB managed to play in his rookie season. As opposed to the type of fan that thinks he played second fiddle to McCown last season.
yeah it seems really at this point the only thing we lack is a CB2 and o-line. that's not that bad all things considered. LMAO zing
Question is will we pay Beachum again as he’s a free agent in 2020. He’s one of the lower paid LT’s in the league and he’ll probably be looking for a big pay day if he has a decent season.
Imagine there's no heaven It's easy if you try No hell below us Above us only sky Imagine all the people living for today
I certainly hope that we wouldn't sign him to be the starter. If he's willing to sign a one-year deal and stay either as a backup or start until the rookie we draft is ready, then fine; otherwise no.
I know you're joking, but I wonder if there is a litle bit of truth in that. Maybe the front office see how he can make time and escape pressure and actually don't think the o-line is a priority. If that is the case then I am truly terrified.
No Beechum probably won't be back - he's an ok LT but 30 and should be improved upon - hopefully with a first round pick. But like I said you just never know with this FO.....
