You're basing this off of one game. Last season, Chad was top 10 in the league in the amount of passes over 30 yards thrown. My feeling is that the Patsies were just putting soo much pressure on Chad he didn't have time to go to the deep ball. We'll see some in the future.
I'm not sure i believe this. I swear every time I read a headline today it says the opposite of what i just read an hour ago. Pennington in, Pennington out, Pennington in, Penny out. I hope Chad can go but I think KC can hold his own. Whatever the case, I like our chances for an upset. Let's get our act together this week boys!
Why do you have to be so blatantly optimistic? Doesn't the act get old after awhile? This is Baltimore, IN Baltimore after having a bad game Monday night, they're seeking blood... Against a rookie QB? Gimmie a break. This isn't Cleveland.
I think Clemens will do as well as can be expected of a 2nd year player making his first start on the road against a good defense. If we had a defense that was capable of holding the Ravens to 13 points or so he might even win. I expect Clemens to go a couple of starts before he has any really chance to win. That's par for the course for a guy in his situation. Chad in 2002 for instance.
He's not a rookie anymore. He hasn't started yet, but he's not a rookie. Let's see what he's got. He might not play well, but he might show signs of what he CAN do in the future.
Yeah, he just needs to show that he's getting his feet on the ground and improving. A QB starting for the first time in the NFL is always going to have some growing pains, unless the team is mostly built and ready to go.
What do most rookies say...Their rookie "status" doesn't end until Week 4 of their Sophomore season. And Kellen was inactive for some games last season... I'm happy as hell that he's going to start for the Jets, I loved the draft choice...But don't act as if he's going to shred up Baltimore, not you, just pointing out selective others.
I don't think Chad can throw the deep ball except as a very occasional change of pace. His throws tend to hang in the air and force the receiver to come back and adjust to them. You can maybe occasionally get away with that but you'll get picked off a lot if you make it a mainstay. I think Mangini and Shottenheimer got an eyefull of Chad's problems last season when you force him to go away from the dink and dunk. The Jacksonville game, the Chicago game, the Cleveland game, the second Buffalo game when the Jets got down a few scores, and of course the playoff game against the Pats. You can't make a target pistol into an sniper's rifle no matter how hard you try.
I agree. IF he does play, I'm not expecting much more than a Bollywood 05 performance. That defense is fierce.
Exactly. But if it's a Bollywood performance i'd be more than pissed, that'd mean Schotty/Mangini would handcuff Kellen to throwing the ball downfield... This OLine... Good luck Kellen, I just want to see something to get excited about.
i hate this completely, this is a weak baltimore team and we are a playoff contender, now is not the time for chad to be injured, this could be fun to see a young qb get some real action, but personally i care more about making the playoffs
