Zach's path line was more linear, i.e. more parallel with the sideline whereas Jalen Hurts was more angular let alone clearly out of bounds. Besides, it wiped out what would've been fourth down and instead kept their drive going. . Love his hustle but Quincy Williams' awareness was never a strong point and to be honest, that hit on Hurts looked like a needless cheap shot.

If we don't hit o-line hard after the repeated disasters there I will be both surprised and angry.

We need LB help too. And I wonder if our OL issues are overstated. It was fine last year once GVR was no longer in.

We’ll need a new starting offensive tackle, we can’t rely on Becton again.

I didn't say JD should use our ENTIRE 2023 draft on D, I said he should use almost his entire draft on D. Of course JD needs to use our 7th round pick on another offensive player if he feels he has holes to fill over there.

I hope Saleh and Ulbrich have something up their sleeve, because I do not like this soft zone crap they play, and tbh, I'm not sold on Ulbrich as of yet.

Been saying this since last year.

Trying to avoid the big plays... meanwhile the opponent nibbles up yards & eats up clock and scores anyway.

Don't disagree there. I wonder if Mitchell can be that in 2023.

Bend then break defense. It's wonderful!

They used to call it the "prevent defense", but all it usually prevented was your team stopping the other team.

Indeed, it was the worst because teams usually went down the field and scored... CS better wake up because it will be another long season if they do not.

I know you don’t want them to blow the whole draft in defense. That really isn’t a smart move even if every player needed to be replaced - both strategy and cap wise it is a bad move.

However they need some more work on the OL - yes if the draft’s best OT is available in the first round it’s a valid choice. Becton appears to be a bust due to injury and McGovern’s contract is up. I’m not the GM of course but I would be very surprised not to see some more draft stock invested into the OL and I don’t mean a 7th round flyer.

“A monkey could run this defense”- Robert Saleh

And he’s right, the system we employ doesn’t use any kind of advanced trickery or schematics, it relies on premier playmakers to succeed. It’s simple as that. It’s why when push comes to shove and we’re up for drafting a player, we’re always gonna take a Sauce Gardner over a guy that could protect our young QB for the next decade. Wash. Rinse, repeat..

Well there’s that. And I think we also gave up more 20 yard plays than any D in the league except Pittsburgh. But to be fair … we were playing guys who were completely overmatched. Too young or not good enough to be playing.

The falcons receivers were running so free the first half that I could have completed those passes. Looks like Ulbrich's schemes are fooling no one.

Hall was absolutely butt awful, dreadful in fact, schemes had very little to do with that. He was totally out of position in single man coverage.

If you watched our other, CBs, then you know why we drafted Gardener....because we DONT have a stud CB, UNTIL NOW. We can't fill every hole in 1 draft, Becton, well it is what it is. You won't be complaining about Gardener, when hes leading the secondary. Next draft. OL, LB, DT.

Not to defend Ulbrich, because I think he is a halfwit, but teams don't really gameplan for the preseason.

Teams are going to continue to not be afraid to throw it Bryce Hall's way. We saw it all last year and now in the preseason. I hope he sits the bench when the real games start

Obviously not (as the jets proved in the first half)!
