Unfortunately, no. As a 10 film franchise, only the three original films are great and historically relevant. Rogue One is good but has no real rewatch value if you aren’t an obsessive fan; the prequels are bad movies; The Force Awakens is a bad movie that doesn’t establish an interesting story for a trilogy to play out, and The Last Jedi is truly an unwatchable piece of crap. At this point there are more bad Star Wars movies than good; that’s the standard of the franchise. We are just holding onto the memory of the original films as thinking Star Wars is any good. I haven’t seen Solo but it’s box office reception reflects such an indifference to the film that we can put it in the bad category on the fact that there will simply never be any meaningful applause of it to offset it bombing.
Well Disney is the epitome of corporate, which is boil everything down to the lowest common denominator / maximize consumption. Taking risk is bad, trying to be interesting is dangerous, stick to what works and keep the train going steady at all costs and don't change unless the train breaks down
