just saw Last Jedi, all I have to say basically is that Star Wars is now dead to me They have absolutely nothing left in the tank, and Disney is completely butchering all that was star wars I have no interest in ever seeing another Star Wars movie ever again. RIP.
Its like they demanded it be like every other Disney product. Im curious as to whether Rian is going to eventually come out and say hes been micromanaged into oblivion or if it was his idea only. I know he was the only writer, so it makes you wonder whether or not its his bad fan fiction or Disneys. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Well just come back from seeing it with the wife, due to all the negativity I have heard I went in with zero expectations and in the end was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't as dog shit as being made out. Now it wasn't brilliant or maybe not even good but not as shit as expected... They can put that on the next movie trailer if they want (c) KO'B
I hated Return of the Jedi and non more so than the Rancor scene when he picks Luke up, awful CGI and then ewoks with stones defeating the storm troopers that have already pretty much conquered the galaxy, sigh.
Watched The Last Jedi for the first time since theaters last night and liked it even more the second time. The Luke story line works much better after you know what you are dealing with. The first time I was like "What the hell is going on?" They did a good job with that. The last half of the movie flows really well. However, the casino scene is still horrible. That entire plot is awful. A complete waste of time. I don't understand how people could not realize that and edit it out or shorten it significantly. Overall, it definitely has it's flaws, but I respect Rian Johnson taking huge risks and changing things up.
I haven't seen the movie yet, but when I was at the grocery store earlier they had the casino scene on one of the TVs at the front of the checkout lane. Not sure I want to see this movie now.
All that doesn't matter because it still has the same Disney fatal flaw of rehashing old themes and gimmicks for the Nth time. They have absolutely nothing original left in the tank, they are ruining the whole thing
I believe the whole point of the casino planet trip will become apparent in time, the young kid that now possesses the rebel ring may well be a grower in future films, did he not force power the sweeping brush into his hand before looking at the sky ?
Yeah, could be. Could be a part of Rian Johnson's new trilogy too. Definitely had one of the best scenes with Vader at the end. Epic stuff.
I’m the opposite. I tried watching it again and it’s an absolutely irredeemable piece of garbage. Making changes simply for the purpose to not cater to audience expectation is not bold or risk taking; it’s being contrary for the sake of being contrary. When he talks about being true to the story, as if the story existed independent of his choices and he was some passive vessel in which it told itself through, he is clearly a self absorbed sack of shit attempting to elevate his piece of shit story as the absolute and true direction it was supposed to go in.
Finally saw Solo: A Star Wars Story today. Not sure what to say about it. It was okay. Everyone did alright. However, shouldn't the standards of "Star Wars" be better than just okay or average? So I still don't quite know what to think of it. I see why it bombed or will be a financial failure for Disney. The movie has no depth. Takes no risks. Etc. Still an entertaining ride though. Take it as such and you will enjoy it. If you want more: you won't.
