Force Awakens is still the worst of the lot I've watched so far. I'm hoping the new director redeems the franchise with The Last Jedi.
Force Awakens is extremely flawed, but it never reaches the depths of simply piss poor movie making as the prequels. Although the movie is dependent on the most contrived plot device in any movie you could imagine -- that Poe's jacket is so unique that BB8 would pick it out from a crowd which brings Finn and Rey together for the movie.
Man tough crowd. I enjoyed them all. I'd run down jar jar Binks with my car if I had a shot at him, but otherwise I find them all entertaining. Can't wait for episode 8! Sent from my KIW-L24 using Tapatalk
Well had a Redbox code so rented Rogue 1 for 27 cents last night. Started the movie and watched about half before I turned on the Ranger game and then tried to finish it after the game. Not going to complain over the 27 cents I wasted but I fell asleep before it was over.
Give it another chance. The first half is really boring. If you don't do that, at least watch the Darth Vader scene at the end. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk
I remember waking up for a scene where he chokes the guy using the force, my question is, if he is using the force why does he always pinch his fingers? I had already gave it to the wife to return so I may try it again when it comes on HBO or somewhere else but I was not impressed, sure they have different plots but they all seem so similar. To each his own, I also watched Lion last night and it is not the type of movie I generally watch but thought it was much better than Rogue One. Completely different movies but I generally like action movies with lots blowing up and I still liked Lion better.
me too, the disney rehash of every little thing from previous movies is retarded, I hope they come up with something new
I was very critical of episode 7, I felt it was a rehash....well I can say this, episode 8 IS NOT. Episode 8 had me drawn in, even though I came with a terrible attitude toward Disney.... This movie is GREAT, and easily in the top 3-4 for me, and I am dying to rewatch it. (Could not say the same 2 years ago).
The Last Jedi took a lot of chances. Most paid off. Some did not. I think it is too early to discuss the plot in this thread. Give people the weekend. The Force Awakens had a much better pace to it. Credit to JJ Abrams. The Last Jedi starts strong, ends strong, but the middle drags. The Last Jedi has some great Star Wars moments though. One storyline/scene dragged it down for me and I am sure those who watched already know what I mean. Overall The Last Jedi is awesome though. I give it an A.
