I had been thinking about creating a Star Wars thread for awhile now. I guess I timed it perfectly.

I didn't watch any movies tonight.

I don't even have the Star Wars movies on DVD. I'd been buying so much other stuff I never bought those, partly because I saw the first trilogy many, many, many times back in the day.

I've seen them so many times and I will probably see them so many more times. They're probably the only movies I can do that with.

I tried to do the 6 movie marathon a few months back but couldn't do it. I'm waiting for the first monsoon type rain storm we get this spring

Back to guessing who said this:
"Whew! I thought they smelled bad on the outside!"

    Han Solo, I think.

I haven't seen "The Empire Strikes Back" since 1997 when it was in theaters and it's one of my top ten all-time fave movies. I think I'm due.

We are brothers for a reason. That is by far my favorite movie and scene...Luke was pretty much the fucking man in that movie...

I love all episodes close to equally, should be a choice for all the above.

Anything having to do with star wars im watching it, even with those short clips on IFILM.com that i used to watch.
Especially the one with both siths fighting to the death, they were both so good that at the end they killed eachother off at the same time, one swung his saber and sliced darth whatever head off and in the same instince the other sliced him in half in the waist, both at the same time his head fell off and the other his torso fell off.
    Shit was mad sick.

I know that Episodes I and II really sucked, but to me at least they were important because they made the story complete a full circle. The characters of Qui Gonn, the other Jedi, and padme had to be introduced.

If you could possibly eliminate any scene with Anakin in it, I & II would both be good movies.

Darth Maul vs Obi Wan/Qui-Jin was one of the best fight scenes in any movie. Its right up there with Luke vs Vader in Empire and both end war scenes in I and II were damn good too.

Anakins incesent whining just drags the movies way down.

The entirety of Episode II was almost unwatchable. The only important scene was the final battle.

Not sure what part it rocked. It reminded me of Alien vs. Predator. No real plot, and the movie was written towards a specific end. It made no sense how it got there, though.

It was better than Alien vs. Predator, because at least it sort of almost had a plot. Maybe the 2nd worst movie I have ever seen.

I personally really like Attack of the Clones. The love story does get a little drawn out, but I think it's a pretty good movie overall.

Does anyone read any of the books?

I'm almost done with Labrynth of Evil. It makes the movies even better because the characters are more developed in the books.

OK, I'll probably get crucified for this, but I hate Star Wars. I tried to do it, even tried to fake an interest, but it just never did float me. Who knows why. I know it's classic good guy/bad guy stuff, good vs. evil, etc. etc., but something has never hit a chord. I can see why it does for other folks, though. Maybe it's just that George Lucas strikes me as semi-retarded, and I can't put that together with the product in a logical sequence.

Yep. I'm going through all the books. I read the Episode II and III books, I read Shatterpoint, I read Boba Fett Book I, and I'm trying to get ahold of the others.

Way back in the mid-'90s, I was reading all the Star Wars books.
