So hard to avoid spoilers...a lot of assholes on social media like Facebook and twitter I can see ruining it
I may have potentially come across one...will have to avoid social media the next couple of days. Sucks cause its my birthday today lol
I wont spoil as I dont know what the important parts are. Enjoyed it, star wars fans laughed at bits that real fans would apprecate
The original will always be the best. (of course I mean Episode IV: A New Hope) I'm always amazed at how most people liked Empire the best...to me, that was the most unsatisfying film in the original trilogy (the prequels, of course, are so hopelessly inferior that they need not be mentioned). The biggest problem with Empire is that it has no ending! It leaves you hanging, almost as if it was unfinished, and you have this incomplete feeling of not knowing what will happen to the wounded rebels "floating in space". In addition, the film is too dark, not depressing exactly but lacking the joy of the original and of Jedi. The original 1977 film is a stand alone masterpiece, and easily the best movie ever made; in fact, it does it a disservice to even call it a "movie". It is simply a brilliant masterpiece that really didn't need a sequel (though thank goodness GL made them!). So, I would rank them: 1) Star Wars, 1977, original masterpiece, by a mile!!! 2) Return of the Jedi 3) Empire Strikes Back ....the rest, of course, far far behind!
Agreed. Not a huge Empire fan, it's still better than any of the first three but I wouldn't be surprised after the Force Awakens that my rankings go Original, Force Awakens, Return or maybe swapping Force and Return.
Although even the negative review I read applauds the quality of the filmmaking, the criticism of it validates my fear about the movie -- that it is too much of just a rehash of A New Hope. "Say what you will about the prequels and their visual callbacks (and wow is series low-point Attack of the Clones a slog before its final show-stopping reels), but George Lucas didn’t just retell the same story a second time out." This was my biggest fear in watching the trailer -- that is looked too much to be repeating A New Hope. Perhaps my now lowered expectations will lead to my enjoying it out of surprise, but it's never a good thing to have your movie compared to watching Gus Van Sant's Psycho.
I'll be a little bummed if JJ decided to turn Luke to the dark side, otherwise I'm not too concerned about this story line and New Hope. Turning Luke is the same thing is watching game of thrones. Every hero falls/dies. It's the sexy thing to do now.
Saw it tonight. Absolutely loved it!!! Had everything you could ask for and JJ Abrams did an AMAZING job! Can't wait for the next two. What an awesome movie
Spoiler free comment: The A New Hope rehash criticism is a bit much. It is done in a fresh and exciting way. People need to stop being so negative.
Loved it too. Damn and i wanna talk about it but im trying not to be that spoiler douche. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk
