aww man I was on youtube and this came up JetsNation06 is the guy at 1:24
Well, i was actually responding to the youtube, not you...lol. However, i will say...i like my odds. By week 12, youll be praying for Sanchez to sprain an ankle.
lol oh, my bad, I misunderstood. Haha yeah it will definitely make the season more fun to watch.
Sanchez has really carried the emotions for this Jets franchise for good & bad. Looking at the vid makes me remember how much hope/happiness went though most of Jets Nation once his name was announced. Sure some defensive players were acquired & Rex was coming in but this was finally a chance at a FRANCHISE QB. Now the team hits hard times & he's the lightning rod for everything that sucks concerning Jets. ========= Not saying Sanchez is under or over appreciated. Although I'm sure this thread will eventually turn into a cut or keep Sanchez argument. When is the last time a player has attracted so much positive & negative from this fanbase?
You have to have a QB to win a Super Bowl. The Jet's QB's at the time the Sanchez pick was announced were Kellen Clemens, Erik Ainge and Brad Smith.
i dont know about that. chad pennington was scrutinized and he was actually decent. neil odonnell was scrutinized, boomer esiason. there have been many, maybe not for as long but thats rex fault, not the fans. and there were so many people riding his balls the first 2 years it was amazing, he surely wasnt scrutinized by many at that point.
Under appreciated because 2009 and 2010 were SO much fun. And 2010 with all the close games we managed to win.
Still think that was a great trade for the Jets getting Sanchez. I wasn't entirely convinced Sanchez was a super elite quarterback, but where the Jets were, it made sense to trade up for a guy some considered an elite quarterback. I saw it more in Sanchez in college than I did in anyone in this draft. Of course, Sanchez never had the chance to go through growing pains. Not dying to see Sanchez play next year, but I could see him fitting a West Coast offense, and there's a tiny part of me that thinks he could still be successful.
I'm never going to criticize the Jets for getting Sanchez, although knowing what we all know now I don't think anybody involved would ever again pick a guy with one year starting experience in college let alone trade up for him. I am definitely going to criticize for how the whole Sanchez experience went down though. The Sanchez we see in front of us is not the Sanchez that could have been with better management of the resources. He was probably never going to be a star but he was serviceable as a game manager until all the talent went away.
