We see articles like this every single off-season with Sanchez. I believe it if it actually happens..
Great news, Sanchez is more comfortable with the West Coast Offense. Well I'm more comfortable with my quarterback not spending time between his right guard's ass cheeks.
i always kind of liked jeff garcia, so i want to trust his assessment/public statements thing is, i dont think anyone with a brain doubted sanchez' ability to pick up the system, its the things that he does during the game that we need to worry about. i dont know if mark can turn around his career, but i believe he has the tools necessary to do so, and he can make a large leap this season with a coordinator like mornhinweg. if he does so, then a lot of problems with our team are answered, and we are playoff contenders once again. have a little faith, were all sports fans so we believe in some form of 'mojo'... give the man good vibes, believe in him, or at least in what he could be. team is in a good position to shock the world (so to speak) this season, so as fans we should be getting behind our players when they put in the effort.
Well grandpa always said wish in one hand and sh&t in the other ! Mark can't possibly pay as poorly as he did last year,,,,,but that ain't sayin much,,,,I will believe it when I see it on the field,, Ps this is the equivalent of the articles in springs past , it brings to mind the Pennington articles or who could ever forget what a world beater Matt Mchesney was in Europe ? I believe he was player of the year at this time, and was going to move right in and start on our off line,,,,,,I don't think he ever saw 10 snaps that year and I believe they might have cut him that same year but I stray
I can't imagine Sanchez trotting out on the field openind day. The crowd will brutalize him. I've seen enough. Hard worker, wants to win, makes decisions like Vinny T.
And my bed was comfortable at night when i was a baby that didnt mean there wasnt a chance id shit it
Chad Pennington helps Mark Sanchez March 3, 2012, 2:31 AM ET By Rich Cimini | ESPNNewYork.com Quarterback Mark Sanchez is learning the New York Jets' new offense from one of the Jets' old quarterbacks -- Chad Pennington. Sanchez met Pennington in South Florida recently for a crash course in Tony Sparano's offense, ESPNNewYork.com confirmed. Pennington brought an old Miami Dolphins playbook and began teaching the system and terminology to Sanchez. The two quarterbacks met more than once for classroom-type sessions. Sanchez reached out to Pennington because, under the new collective bargaining agreement, players aren't allowed to meet with their coaches and discuss football until April 16 -- the start of the offseason program. Sparano was hired Jan. 11 to replace offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer. Instead of waiting around for three months, Sanchez took the initiative. Pennington, unceremoniously released by the Jets before the 2008 season, signed immediately with the Dolphins and directed Sparano's offense in 2008 and 2009. Pennington played brilliantly in 2008, leading Miami to the AFC East title. Pennington, 35, who worked last season as an NFL game analyst for FOX Sports, has a home in South Florida. He missed last season because of major knee surgery and is considering retirement after a career filled with several shoulder injuries. Interestingly, Pennington's former backup in Miami -- Chad Henne -- is on the Jets' free-agent radar, according to sources. The Jets are looking for a veteran to back up Sanchez. Obviously, Henne would be a fit because of familiarity with Sparano's system.
Yeah, we know. Consider the fact that Sparano had no clue what he was doing on offense and we lost a bunch of skill-players. This article is nullified.
Stop that! That makes too much sense and logic to be used on here!! Cut it out! Sanchez suxxxx!!@@@!!11!!111!
Sanchez' failures have nothing to with what system or what offense is being run or has been run in the past. It's inaccuracy and not putting the ball in the proper spot for his receiver to make a play or get YAC. He panics under pressure, he can't feel the rush nor does he have any pocket presence and his ball security is pathetic. A new system does not cure those type of weaknesses.
Everyone always blames the OC it's pretty funny. Sparano's play-calling wasn't nearly as problematic as some here say it was. I'm not saying it was genius or even 'good' either, it was a standard Ray Perkins style playbook made simple for a struggling QB and young group of WRs. Problems were mainly an execution thing, not just on the QB either. If Sanchez flops next year it won't be because of the play-calling. That excuse is out the window now with an established and successful OC being brought in.
Nope, it's Sanchez. From the recent NY Giants game 'till now, he's been playing like a bitch. Like he lost his mojo or something.
Pretty much, I would say that or he had his bell rung by Von Miller and never recovered. Good ol David Carr route.
Nice to read, but I heard Chad saying the same thing last year. I want to see it translate onto the field
Junc and Hobbes running around saying I told you so will of course be of minor importance if we finally have a competent QB at the wheels. Useless WR corps results in dropped passes and erronious routes, and we indeed saw plenty of that. That still doesn't count for overthrown passes to stationary targets and being reckless with the ball. But I guess we should all realize that Mark forcing it into double & triple coverage is on Chilenz etc...?
You know...here's the one question I have...and how I would gauge Sanchez. How would he have done if he had Roddy White, Julio Jones and Tony Gonzalez to throw to? I re-watched the Atlanta games from last playoffs just to see... Of course, re-watching didn't tell me anything. But, if the NY Jets had that kind of stacked passing attack...just how good would M.S. be? Anyone care to weigh in? I mean, let's think about this a second...Atlanta had the best set of Wide outs of any team in the playoffs. Bar none. I wonder.... To be quite honest. I'm not going one way or the other on Mark Sanchez this year. I'm in FULL wait and see mode. If he picks up the WCO and "wows" us and is comfortable etc...and just blows the lid off then I'll be pleasantly surprised when we are in the playoffs. If he doesn't...well, then, I won't be disappointed. If he DOES though...it really does put us into a whole different position. But who's to know. Time will tell.
