Anybody else remember Jerald Sowell (aka God) flattening Lewis a few years back to spring Curtis for a score? that was a thing of beauty.
This stems from: Ray: "Pick me Rex! I can install your D in New York!" Rex: "Hey Ray, no thanks. I am gonna go with Bart." Bart: "Whats that Ray??"
Ray Lewis Comments on Jets on Darrelle Revis: "I'm always honest: I'm glad he signed, but I don't care what kind of shape he's in," Lewis said in anticipation of Monday night's matchup. "I don't care nothing about Revis outside of, we play on Sundays and that's it. ... I'm just glad he is signed, so there is no excuses. Don't come and say, 'Oh, we didn't have Revis.' Have everybody y'all need to have. Whoever y'all need to go sign ... whatever to do, sign who you need to sign, stack your deck and let's go play football." "Revis puts his pants on one leg at a time," he said Thursday in a conference call with the New York media. "He's not a machine. He's a simple man, and he has to deal with everything we're willing to bring to the table as well. Hopefully, he's ready to play. Hopefully, his 35-day layoff didn't hurt him. But we don't need no hope. Y'all can keep your hope because we've got enough hope over here. We're packing our bags, and we're not packing our bags to come play water polo. We're packing our bags to come play football." on Sanchez: "We don't even have to guess; all you have to do is look at the film," Lewis said . "He struggles a lot when he has to throw the ball a lot. That's just not his forte. That's not their team thing." on John Conner: "The only Terminator I know is Arnold Schwarzenegger." on Rex: "The game ain't played through tongues," he said, according to The Baltimore Sun. "The game is played when you buckle up your chin strap. So, all this pressure [Ryan] wants to put on his team, I hope they can cash the check that he writes." Its a shame there isnt another week of Hard Knocks so we can watch Conner flatten Lewis
Thing is I dont think they do - the media has now decided that this is the jets persona and so go out of their way to portray it that way - that and the fact we are on hard knocks
"My name should not come out Rex’s mouth unless you’re telling somebody to come block me, which is going to be a very hard damn task come Monday night." Nick Mangold will do it with EASE, ALL NIGHT LONG! ALL NIGHT!
No team talks like the Jets do. Everyone else is saying they are working towards the Super Bowl. The Jets are saying they have it won unless they screw it up for themselves.
I think that a very large part of the perception of jets as trashtalkers is a media spin because it gives them something to talk about in a league light on personalities
The New York Jets are in the Baltimore Ravens heads. The Ravens think they got this game 100%. I know they do. They seem so confident this game is already in the bag.
what's funny is you really don't hear any of this talk from Jet players. It's all Rex. I think the Jets opponents talk more then our actual players. All our players say is the goal is the super bowl. Every week we have a new player or jet hating analyst knocking the jets.
I don't see why people are mad If you're someone looking from the outside, it doesn't really make sense for Rex/Jets to do as much trash talkin as they do Personally, i love it. but i can understand why players/fans from other teams don'tlike it
I know I'm in the minority, but I've got no problem with Ray Lewis speaking his mind. Just like I have no problem with Rex Ryan doing it. As long as you back up your talk on the field, you can tell the media whatever the fuck you want. Let's see if Ray's singing a different tune on Tuesday morning.
