Jake Steinberg @Steiny31 "I wouldn't say signing Yeremiah would rule out the return of Jim Leonhard. I don't think Jim is done as a football player." - Rex Ryan
If we sign Leonhard, Im taking that as a sign that we have absolutely no faith in any of our safeties to stay healthy
If Leonard returns it will be mostly to mentor the rooks and the two new Vets to a lessor extant(imo). I remember coach saying the playbook was likable and learn-able and Ray Lewis saying "you have to know the whole defense, not just your own position!" So how fast can the kids get up to speed and learn the "whole playbook" and feel comfortable in it? A season?
Which is exactly why I'm hoping Leonard is signed. I've got no faith both safeties are going to stay healthy.
leonard hasn't stayed in healthy in two seasons. and why does his re-signing mean what you think???? I'm all for having the safeties of, landry, bell, leonard, smith and the rookie.
