Yeah-but as of right now neither of those teams are "playoff teams" and as good as they both can be - I have a feeling neither will be. I know how soft SD schedule is but I think KC will get it.
What a gem of a thread. The Patriots certainly have come along way since the loss at the Meadowlands. However, since then the Jets have added Pace, Holmes, and Revis. The Patriots lost Moss and got Branch Mankins and Woodhead. Seems to favor the Jets in personnel here. Now I'm not saying the Jets will blow the Patriots out... because Tommy Uggz is a 3rd down genius but I believe the Jets win.
You're big on stats but ignoring the most telling team stats: points scored, points allowed, and the spread between the two. There's less than a 1-point difference between the Jets and Pats: - Pats outscore their opponents 30.4 to 24 (6 1/2 points). They are 1st in points scored and 22nd in points allowed (far from the worst in the league as you like to claim) - Jets outscore their opponents 24 to 17 (7 points). They are 11th in points scored and 4th in points allowed. Also, the Patriots D lost 3 starters to IR in the preseason and have had to play 5 or 6 rookies or 2nd year guys that didn't play last year. The way they played early bears no resemblance to the way they're playing now. They are a fast big hitting D that is starting to jell. Look for the Jets running game to be stuffed pretty good, and a lot of pressure on Sanchez.
Honestly, if an injury requires a rookie to get substantial minutes, you'd rather have it happen in the pre-season to get the rookie the first team reps. I don't count this as an excuse for defensive woes. If a rookie is capable of contributing, they will... i.e. Jarod Mayo a few years ago and Hernandez is a good example this season. Offensively, I'll agree, defensively...they appear to have the same woes. You are a DIRTY hitting team and if your team doesn't gel as the season goes on what the fuck are you doing on the field? The run game will get stuffed? If it does it's because the Jets gameplan pass. But with snow in the forecast, this is unlikely. Look for the run.
Your Team Gave up more point to detroit then we did. GPC That bad offense hung some points on you Crummy defense pal!
and what were those two games that were different? We beat Indy and Pittsburgh and you beat Houston and Denver (Barely).. Who gives a crap; We both beat our opponents. Pats fans argument our two games were against better opponents: Jets fan you lost to Cleveland blah blah blah and then I say you should have lost to Cleveland right? God every freaking thread on here is he same exact thing. Does anyone on here actually want to talk about football and matchups or do we just keep having a pissing contest on every thread. This is the first board of an opposing team I have ever joined because there actually seemed like there were a bunch of people on here that had some good opinions and insight on football but wow.. Pats week comes up and everyone turns in to a troll... ridiculous. Die in a flood?? really? Grow up...
The argument that "we should have lost to Cleveland" is fucking stupid and to try draw any parallel to the Pats losing there is even more fucking stupid because the Pats were never in that game. Had the Jets lost that game it would have been by 3, not by 20. Die in a flood is an inside joke around here We try to talk matchups here, most important being Jets offense vs. terrible Pats defense and the trolls got butt hurt by facts and essentially hijacked threads with general faggotry. We've had fans of other teams come on here and engage in rational discussion but when Pats and Dolphins fans show up here the site gets like this. It happens. You seem rational tho.
You can throw all the statistics out if you want, but the fact remains the Jets beat the Patriots already this year without Pace, Revis, or Holmes. Those are three pretty big impact players... And now you Pats fans say you'll somehow beat the Jets with these guys back in there and playing up to their potential? Very simply, it ain't gonna happen... You're gonna lose again. And the following week you have a very good chance of losing again. And the week after that you have an excellent chance of losing again. You may very well drop 3 games in a row here. I think you should be prepared for that. You may go from 9-2 to 9-5 before you know it. And then Miami may hand you a loss on the way out too. That defense is going to get exposed. This is the toughest part of the schedule for the Pats, and it so happens that 3 of the last 5 teams are all top defenses. You really really have your work cut out for you.
if we want the respect we have to earn it, we need to beat the Pats on Monday a superbowl team would the Pats on Monday, No excuses at this point, we march into that shithole foxboro Monday night and beat a less talented team, plain and simple.
why are pats fans acting like the chargers and colts are the juggernauts of the nfl? theyre both barely over .500 Also pats fans, if you haven't noticed, everyone is beating each other this year. The league is pretty level talent wise, top to bottom; the records obviously wont show that. If any fans know this, it should be you guys..blown out by the browns. To try to compare two teams based on UNCOMMON opponents, especially this year, is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. The logical thing would be to look at head to head records, which, look at that, 1-0 in the jets favor. After that, comparing matchups doesn't mean much. If you want to compare common opponents you can go ahead but it won't do much for you. and if you do want to point out that the pats play two slightly better teams, you can't ignore the teams you lost to. The Browns and the Jets. The teams we lost to? Ravens and Packers. Sure, you beat the Packers, but we ARE the jets. Looks like we win out here, too. Shocker.
the good news is that this tommy brady uggs fag will be gone from this place on Tuesday and crawling back under his rock like a cockroach... hopefully his namesake, tommy hairplugs will be in the hospital at the same time
My point about players on IR was that the rookie replacements were all playing in the SECOND nfl game when we saw you in September. Guys like Spikes, McCourty, Deaderick, Cunningham, and Chung are now all major contributors, and there's a couple of other rookie role guys playing well too. I don't know where you're getting the "dirty" stuff, unless you mean Merriweather in the Baltimore game, and he's been a model citizen since. But they are hitting people like I've never seen from a Pats D, especially the two safeties and Spikes. And Mayo leads the league in tackles. I think the Pats defensive game plan is going to to limit LT, both as a rusher and dump-off guy. I never thought Tomlinson would get his mojo back but he certainly has. It's going to be cold and blustery and they'll take their chances that Sanchez won't be making accurate throws downfield.

You must live on another planet. The pats offense may be great but they didnt seem too great against us the first time nor did they seem great getting blown out by the same browns that we beat. that D is bad, but that isnt the concern. that D is young and inexperienced. Crunch time is coming who do you trust more? That young and inexperienced D or the Jets mass of experienced playmakers. Pats win nothing since being caught!! Karma is nice.
I am dumbfounded on how the media is not seeing through the Pats. Nothing about that team says playoffs other then the QB and the Coach. When it comes to crunch time and they need to play some power football they can't. Hopefully after we beat them Monday the media will remove the Pats dick from their mouth. Quite frankly all these experts are doing what they did last year, counting the Jets out. I love it, the team thrived off that.
